There's not gonna be a better replacement at Center walking through that door anytime soon, not to mention he is a young player who has Finals experience with this group.

Somebody tell Sarver to cut the fukking check:unimpressed:
Ayton got all the signs of a dude that will stop giving every bit of a fukk as soon as the check clears :manny:

:yeshrug:I can’t blame Phoenix for being apprehensive. He will probably pull a Hassan Whiteside and stop giving a fukk.

this really doesnt mean much other than possibly pissing Ayton off and creating some internal friction

hes going to get a max offer during RFA and the Suns will almost certainly match

they are just trying to penny pinch now for whatever reasons

is the max Ayton can get from other teams less than the full max the Suns can offer now?

I could be wrong, but I believe that Phoenix will be able to offer him 5 years, while other teams can only offer him 4.

CP3 did his part by leaving money on the table when he could have gotten more elsewhere. That's all on ownership. He took less than Lowry did when he didn't necessarily have to do so and still the better player.
CP3 as the difference maker for Phoenix more than anything else is what I'm referring to.

If he wants to take less, that's on him. Objectively looking at Ayton and wondering how much Whiteside/Bynumism is a part of who he is though? That's fair. fukk Sarver, but that's fair.

My only issue in their logic is that whether you pay him now or pay him next year, then there's nothing stopping him from becoming a Whiteside/Bynum once he gets his money. You either want to take that gamble or you don't :yeshrug:

so are they seriously doing this to avoid the extra year (assuming they will make him go get a max and then match)? Suns just creating internal drama for no reason

I'm guessing that they just don't want to max him in general and have apprehension about doing so. The thing is, if they don't max him out then another team will. If they match it, then they would have created internal drama for no reason.

They have until 6pm Eastern time to come up on an agreement, so they could still always do it at the last minute.
