I don't know who's writing these television shows but I have been laughing hard as hell at these latest episodes of all my shows. I openly admit that Comedy is my favorite genre of television entertainment. Yesterday (I was late), I was damn near doubled over watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine. There was so much going on that I kept checking the clock, asking myself, "Is this really a half hour?".
The opening was a little dull as the on foot chase on the tops of cars didn't hold my attention. Watching Jake bust his ass woke me right up, LOL. He was really channeling Leslie Knope doing his best to work through his injuries. When he dropped all those files and almost died carrying that file box out of the room was classic. There were also some great moments shared between Jake, Boyle and SGT Jeffords.
Andre Braugher is a tour de force. He and Rosa are a team that I am getting used to and falling in love with. That opening when they had to make small talk for 8 minutes and 45 seconds coupled with a synchronized watch check was great. F U C K Nick Cannon. I know Rosa has no ass to speak of but when she dipped from the table, I swear there was something poking. Kevin is underused and needs to be more of a regular. Him shutting down Capt. ****'s topics, constantly directing the focus back to Rosa and his general contrast to Capt **** is beautiful. The Captain's overwrought nervousness when Rosa announced that she may be pregnant was jokes. He demonstrates awkwardness so well for such a composed unflinching character. (I almost thought Stephanie Beatriz was leaving the show when they dropped that "bomb".)
Amy Santiago is my darling, darling baby. When she showed up in that dress in the subway, it was like old time. I am loving the dressing down of the most direct incarnation of Leslie Knope on BK99. That salad bit was dope but I have never seen a subway window open. I mean never. I also caught the wine splashing out of her mouth when she took it to the head on the stoop. Gina is Gina and by that I mean classic. I also liked how she had her back. They have been getting tighter and tighter since the "Stages of Drunkenness". Gina's ass was poking heavily.
Scully and Hitchcock killed it when they feigned concern and then sat back down.
I loved this show and cannot believe that they were gone for so long. They came back and looked like that haven't missed a step. Bravo!
