Actually that was my first post in the thread :pachaha:

There's a reason why you can't retort.. you are a stan but an uneducated one. You can't attack the facts so you drift elsewhere but can't get a "win" there either. :manny:

Doubling down on ad hominem won't save your argument any more than trying to change the parameters. Please update your playbook. :unimpressed:

Sounds like you're a failure to me. You had nothing...

is the movie free on HBO? yep.
are a lot of people going out to the theaters right now regardless? Nope.
Venom and Carnage pushed back again? Yep.

Show the lie "Majestic Lion" :manny:

What's the current subscription cost for HBO? :jawalrus:

Your argument that it being free on HBO Max hurt the box office ignores the article that was posted in here multiple times that the HBO Max numbers for this are down from what Mortal Kombat did. There just seems to be less overall interest in this movie.

That lack of interest doesn't reflect the quality or lack of quality of the movie. It just seems people aren't checking for it.

Disney lost money charging $29.99. Black Widow won't be profitable. You need to realize that Disney and WB know way more about their own finances than you do and guess what? There's no easy answer... it's a pandemic.

Disney’s ‘Black Widow’ Gamble Didn’t Pay Off

And yes it's "free" ... unless "no additional cost" works better for u

this is the most important part of the article

What initially seemed like the vindication of a dual-release strategy, then, turned out to be a neat example of the strategy’s financial foolishness. After all, if everyone can access a new blockbuster at once, it’s unlikely to hold people’s attention for longer than a week. But as cinema owners have pointed out, moviegoers are still willing to see new titles in theaters and pay to watch them at home later; the only reason they aren’t doing that is because studios are choosing instant gratification over sustainability.

Basically, under normal conditions, people who don’t see a movie the first week, will try to see it as soon as possible so they won’t be spoiled. That’s why the 2nd week numbers are just as important as the first. That word of mouth.

but when you stream it, everyone can relatively watch it at the same time, and pirated copies will be used but a large chunk of the rest.
