i'm thirding desert boots. Casual...high/mid top...relatively timeless even if they're in style right now (or were at least). They're comfortable and cheap too.

I would assume of course slacks... you couldn't wear anything else on top of those without looking like a hipster. Hipster go to would probably be some dark blue jeans with a light blue/light jean button up with a dark gray wool vest... and (drum roll please) a bowtie. But for me, probably a khaki color slack? I don't know If would put a dark color slack on top of that dark gray.

Best bet is to probably wear a blazer... the shoes would probably go better with a wool blazer, as opposed to cotton. But it just depends. You definitely won't be able to be too "matchy" though.... It would take a lot of "indirect coordination" to make it work.

Honestly... it's really the red shoe strings that make it a little more difficult

:merchant: i was going to answer that question with dark denim and a button up/ non graphic long sleeve shirt...i fell back though haha

I respect any man that can pull off the Cole Haan's without lookin like a hipster who is tryin too hard...

What would u rock with that?

Dark denim jeans, a polo or button up with some red in it and a black blazer, you should be good.

I'm just learning the value of a blazer, that shyt makes everything better

:laff: I swear bowtie's must be handed to every hipster along with a wool beanie

I agree you definitely cant be "matchy", I will have to look at more pics cause Im not sure I have anything in my wardrobe that I can comfortably rock with em.

My thing is, If I'm wearing a Blazer, a button up, dark slacks, why not reach for the oxfords over the haan's?

Maybe to spice up the outfit a bit? :manny: I dunno

I think the the jeans and button-up is fine really....

What really is the hipster "go-to" is the button-up/vest/bowtie trifecta, regardless of the rest of the outfit... and they love wearing jeans with dressy/unique shoes in ways that shouldn't normally go together.... that's why I mentioned the jeans. Not saying that you couldn't wear jeans with them and not look like a hipster... just that, that's what a hipster would probably do. :scusthov:

Do people really wear bowties and vests like that? I'm between Providence and Brooklyn (both pretty hipster areas) right now and I don't even see it like that.

Ehh... maybe just demographic thing.

I see a lot of the black hipster thing living in atlanta... you can tell which dudes go to Morehouse/Emory/GA Tech...

But I won't lie... I've done the vest and bowtie thing before... Bu-Bu-But it was New year's eve in Vegas.... and it was with slacks and aldo dress shoes. :pachaha:
