Yall on the WC correct me if I am wrong but I think the Jodeci and DR connection came from Suge tryna get Jodeci and Mary J Blige off of Uptown Records ( which was owned by Andre Herrell and is the same place where Puffy interned and learned the business from Andre) Crazy shyt is... had to have seen up close how Suge tried to bytch up his mentor Andre yet and Suge "seemed" cordial initially ( way before the madness with Wolf shooting Suge man and whatnot)

I'm a big Jodeci head, Andre wasn't paying Devante for royalties from the Forever My Lady album, so Devante was flirting with the idea of bringing Jodeci to DR.

Dre & Uptown wasn't feeling that, so they didn't promote the Diary of a Mad Band album. So Jodeci stopped making videos for that album.

Suge was their Manager from like '93-96. Mary came along in the summer of '96.

Jodeci & Pac recorded about 6-10 tracks, only 3 were released.

Jodeci were basically DR artist on a different label. They were repping them in interviews, wearing the clothes, performing at their shows, etc.

Suge & his goons gave Andre a swirly & threaten to get him raped to break their contract. Suge got Devante a 250,000 Porsche in return

ya thats correct. i read about that shyt. suge and even jodeci themselves thought they were getting stiffed by uptown records, so suge tried to get them out of their contract and he did. same goes for mary j but idk if mary was actually discontent with her deal at uptown like jodeci was ....which is most likely why she ended up not working with him and/or signing to his management firm (called west coast management) like jodeci did. thats all jodeci did was sign to his management firm. they never actually signed to death row. all of their albums still went through uptown but they were then allowed to still work with DR and suge at the same time cause the contract(s) were restructured. this is all when puffy and suge were still friends you gotta remember that. this was at the time of when the bad boy idea was starting to take hold and it was becoming a thing at uptown/mca but was just a small production company and/or management company. when puffy formed bad boy in the beginning mary j followed puff there but she was never signed to them (on a label deal like she was for uptown). she was just signed to them production company or management firm wise cause bad boy was all three. (production, management, and a record label). suge tried to get her off bad boys management or production deal but she decided not to roll with him like jodeci did.

Mary got tight when Puff took Faith instead of her, there was a little beef between the two cause of it

that had nothing to do with that. that happened because of the jake robles being killed and suge wanted revenge. this happened after puffys/suges friendship was ruined by the jake robles and source awards incident. both of those happened in '95
