First off... Congrats my dude for the interview :myman:

Confidence is key and always make a lasting impression. Do your homework on the company and market yourself so they believe that you are the best fit for the job.

You got this.

Breh, theres better places to get this kind of info than the-coli. :upsetfavre:

nikkaz think Im being an a$$hole when I tell them to google shyt, message boards in general are not good resources to find solutions for a lot of REAL LIFE problems. Besides the fact that alot of posters are probably lying, how many people with high profile/demanding jobs do you think have time to post on a message board during the week? :pachaha:

- Have good eye contact try not to maintain eye contact too much. When he/she says something that you think they think is supposed to be deep (or that they want you to think about), look away so it seems like you're thinking about it, even if you're not.

- Come correct with the handshake or get the fukk out. Firm and quick is the way to go. Anything else will make you look weird or just weak overall.

- Pace yourself, and always bring every question back to the job and how you benefit them. Remember: you're trying to sell yourself. Employers don't give a shyt about YOU personally; employers want to know why you would be an asset to them. If they ask you about challenges you face, go to a work or school related example if you can, and try to explain how it translates into an efficient workplace experience on your part.

- Be emotive and smile if you can. Well... you don't have to smile, but don't have a poker face the whole time.

- Don't worry if you get nervous. Just keep it moving if you fukk up, or acknowledge that you're nervous during the interview.

- DON'T fall for their trick questions. Look up illegal interview questions if you don't know what those are because there are certain questions interviewers are not allowed to ask you.

- Lastly, don't recite your resume to them. They've (most likely) already read it and they probably don't want to hear it again. Just make sure that you keep your story straight though, otherwise..

Other than that, good luck.

i cringe everytime i read this "do your homework on the company" nonsense. its a complete waste of time. my advise is for you to know as much as you can about the position and have a answer ready for why u are the best person to fill it.

aint nobody gon hire ur ass for knowing everything there is to know about a company. what u will be hired for is knowing how to handle the business they need handled at that company.

Try to find if they have sample questions that will be asked during the interview. I recommend searching on glassdoor.com.

Most interviews nowadays tend to be behavioral. Also, make sure you answer questions in a STAR format. (Situation, Task, Action Result)

In order to stand apart, have a story that will differentiate you from everyone else. Make it a story that demonstrates your interpersonal skills.

If asked, what differentiates you from everyone else? I ALWAYS respond with...mindset. There's nothing that can faze me because I am passionate about life in general. This positive energy translates into anything I do. If I suffer a setback, I will get back up because I'm fortunate to be breathing. Life throws stuff at all of us but its those who are not fazed by it, that persevere. During times of adversity is when one sees what they are truly made of.

cringe why? It wasn't a waste of time for me in past interviews because I have been asked questions regarding my knowledge or understanding of the company and/or industry. Now, it's not always necessary, but it's definitely not a waste of time IMO.

True@ the rest of your post. I see it all as presenting yourself as the most informed, knowledgeable, and well-rounded applicant for the position.

Obviously be prepared to discuss your past work experience in detail. In my most recent interview they hit me with that "describe a challenging event you faced at x job and explain how you dealt with it." Easy enough but make sure you got something in mind beforehand.
