Old Brooklyn

uh....

Bargnani... Is looking just as awkward as Copeland but less efficient. :upsetfavre:

I'm really hoping this is just pre-season antics...

This is very optimistic as most fans on this board for their team are but let's be real.

Brooklyn still has top 10 players at every starting position and they have two that are top 5 in Deron and Brook. With KG, PP showing flashes of being great still and Joe is clutch and is good for solid offense and defense. They are very smart as a team.

Indy while a good regular season team, is built for the physical playoffs and they are a nightmare defensively. In the playoffs, you have to be overly great at offense or defense but okay at the other to be a contender and Indy is that. They too have legit players at SG, SF, PF, and C. They are very smart at every position as well.

Chicago is a very good if not great team with Rose. They are better than NY by a considerable margin.

So while all of these teams have their flaws, they are all better when it matters which is the playoffs than the Knicks. They have more talent and they have good fits as well. Not to mention, coaching isn't one of the Knicks strong points.

You didnt refute anything I said, you only disagreed. Thanks for the quote tho I guess...:manny:

Whether Melo earned his deal is irrelevant. The best player in the game is underpaid because he decided that winning rings was more important than having the largest contract. With the new CBA that is a sacrifice star athletes HAVE to make. For as long as there is a Miami, you can't have your cake and eat it too

This isnt fair....two top 5 players, and a top 5 PF, all colluded with one another to form a super team. Even if Melo takes a pay cut, a significant one at that, who would be prohibited from coming here via free agency if Melo gets at or near the max? It seems like your goal is just want to make sure Melo takes a pay cut, and then figure the rest out later if at all.

If Melo takes the max, and we keep the good players who would still be under contract, that leaves no money to put a championship team around Melo. I don't think max players are absolutely necessary around a team of Shumpert, JR and Melo, but you do need the money to pay for guys who will keep this team in 50+win territory
