Dog, his athleticism is waning by the day and he's only getting to be more susceptible to injury as he ages. Do you really want him taking up 40% of the cap?
Exactly melo is great and all but it's not all on him we are not ready. It's time to break up. We need to rebuild honestly and truthfully . Like a solid 2 yr project. And no I'm not being irrational. We need to stop looking for quick fixes. Let melo walk or trade him for picks. Keep shumpert and Thjr everyone else can be moved. Let start over. At the least in year 2 we should look like the suns.

What kind of logic is this? :what:Trade 'Melo and keep Shump, who's done nothing for the franchise? When has his offense or defense decided a game in his entire career? Is 'Melo consistently costing NY games or keeping in them in the Playoff hunt? Rebuild into what :what:without a player like him? You said NY would look like the Suns in the next 2 years. How's that any different that what NY is currently when both teams have a great chance of missing the Playoffs?

East Nos. 7-9:
Bobcats, Knicks, Hawks

Charlotte's win and New York's loss means the Bobcats can clinch a playoff spot for the second time in franchise history Saturday. They're on back to back, and the Cavs will likely be mad about getting blown out by Atlanta Friday, though. They're a virtual lock, however. Their magic number for the seveth seed is three.

As for the 8th seed, we'd like to thank theCavaliers for stopping by. You've been terrific guests, and we have some lovely parting gifts for you. Oh, you already have a lottery pick? Three? Well then. This is awkward. The Cavs weren't just beaten Friday vs. the melted Hawks, they got blown out. Their tragic number (for elimination) is three. That'll petty much do it.

Atlanta got a monster win in that game, something to make them feel like a good basketball team. Combine that with the Knicks' loss and they're back in the 8th seed alone, two games up in the loss column for conference tiebreaker.

That loss to Washington was bad for the Knicks. At home, vs. conference opponent, when Atlanta won. Realistically, Atlanta's going to get tiebreaker by conference record. If we factor that as likely, then the magic number for Atlanta is just five, with Detroit and Milwaukee left on the Hawks' schedule, and a game against the Bobcats in which the Cats could rest starters.

New York's margin for error isn't zero, but it's paper thin.

the thought of rebuilding is usually more attractive than the reality. this team isn't capped out forever, now has a president who knows the game and will solidify the front office and have heard melo say he would take less money. you can sign melo and still have enough to put a team around him.

unless someone thinks theyre guaranteed in getting someone like durant or whoever else is a free agent in the next two years(we've been through this before) letting him go for the hell of it or low first round picks isnt all that enticing.

Let go of Melo and keep Shump because Melo will prevent this team from getting better while Shump will be a good piece to have as he develops for cheap. The fact that he's had mediocre seasons means his money figure will be low and he'll still earn more than he would elsewhere by just being in the NY market. Meanwhile on the court, if he can consistently give the kind of effort he gave last night, he'll be a boon regardless of how we rebuild this team.

How does this answer any of my questions? Also, you said NY would look like the Suns in the next 2 years. How's that any different that what NY is currently when both teams have a great chance of missing the Playoffs? And, what does KD have to do with this? That dude lost in 5 (almost 4) to a team that struggles to score more than Indy does, and shot terribly doing it. I mean, his performance in that elimination game was :scusthov::scusthov::scusthov::scusthov::scusthov::merchant::merchant::merchant::merchant::scusthov::dahell:.
:what:

the fukk are u talking about? im agreeing with you. i didnt say shyt about phoenix. good grief.

That's Melo politicking. Why take less money in NY when he can do that for a contender?

because maybe he actually wants to win here? idk. let it play out this summer. but im not adamant to toss away a player having his best year ever and has 3-5 prime years left.

It makes no sense, breh. If he's staying in New York and bare the grunt of it, he's going to cash out. fukk what you heard.
