Dame has barely had playoff success., though. His hook is pulling up from the logos and the whole "anti-team up campaign". That's what got him his buzz. Ant Edwards really has no buzz. But I think this year will make or break his major push. He'll need a narrative for the media to run with, and it will take some fan demand. He has to succeed in the playoffs. I'm not worried about the small market thing in 2023 when it comes to national notoriety. Dame and Ja both have become stars in smaller markets but they've had playoff success. If the wolves can win a playoff round, Ant would be the main reason why and then it would be longer segments highlighting his greatness. Instead they blew the series against the Grizzlies last year and all people could talk about was the pathetic wolves who couldnt close games then this year got ran off the court by the Nuggets.
So playoff success and a top 3-4 seed is needed for Ant to get that big push. This year it happens
You listen to Gilbert Arenas too much. Would he be helped with Nikes marketing? For sure, but the cream always rises to the top. 2 words....Steph Curry.I think he’s also an Adidas athlete (which will also prevent him from being the face of the league)

DIDNT STOP ROSE
When was Rose was the face of the league?
To me face of the league is when non-sports fans in America + sports fans outside of North America know the athlete.

How is Anthony Edwards going to be the face of the league if he's not a generational talent? Nike aint gonna get him there. Steph disproved your point. He became a face of the league without Nike. Shaq did it too. You either have it or you don't. I could name others but then it would just become an argument over them ever being the face of the league. My comment has nothing to do with Gil, it's just common sense.
So your example is a unicorn, arguably the greatest point guard ever
Nike machine>>>
It's pretty well known amongst those in marketing operations, and warriors fans that Under Armour's marketing is garbage.
Jason Collins?Has any player in the history of the nba ever "forced" they way to the hawks
Gotcha so Anthony Edwards needs to be in the discussion of greatest of all time at his position (Shaq, Steph). How is Anthony Edwards going to be the face of the league if he's not a generational talent?
