Over 450,000 people under the age of 78 have died of Covid since the pandemic started. That is an enormous, horrific figure. And yet pretty much all you've been talking about the last 12 months is how much we need to open back up ASAP.

I went to the CDC website and added up the # of <75 deaths that were confirmed as Covid (they didn't have an exact # for <78). Then I took the # of deaths from 76-85 and estimate a % of those as being under 78 and added it to the first total. Then I took the information from last year's research that showed that the age profile of Covid deaths mimicked the age profile of all deaths last year, applied the %'s determined from the confirmed Covid deaths to the additional excess deaths, and added that to the total to come to a final figure of about 475,000 deaths. I then added a fudge factor of +/- 25,000 since several of the steps had just been projections.

Now are you going to continue being stupid and uninformed or are you actually going to address the topic?

the ironic thing here is that all the people who were taken in the prime of their life, in their 40s and 50s, you're the one who's doing them a disservice by lumping them in with nursing home patients. look at america's reaction to this fukkin thing. it's because the assumption is that it's mostly elderly people, so its not as big of a deal. right? wouldnt you agree that's clearly how the public has been reacting?
