“While in the classroom, the student made statements that he was upset that she took his game away and said he "will beat her up every time she takes away his game," an arrest report stated, and that "when he comes back he is going to kill her."

The surveillance video shows the teacher's aid walking into a hallway and then briefly look back, when she is pummeled by the student, who is described as approximately 6 feet, 6 inches tall, and 270 pounds.”

Behavior like this can’t go unpunished. He wanted to kill that woman.

And showed no remorse for it after whatsoever.
It's a vicious cycle. I've been locked up with dudes like this. They randomly attack correctional officers and other inmates. And they can't control their anger. They keep getting extra time added to their sentence.

Then when they finally do get out, they act out and keep getting probation violations. They get sent back to jail or prison. They can't find a job let alone keep one

The boy clearly has mental health issues. The discussion she be about getting him some help, and changing classroom policy. Not about how he should be “punished”
