Just when I was coming to grips with Bryan Burwell's passing...
In the car today and caught w/e show is on ESPN Radio in the early PM. Wasn't Coach, it was whoever's on after him.
Anyway they had Michael Smith on, and I just tuned in as they asked him some question, didn't quite get all of it, but he went on for a good 5 minutes straight. I wish I could've recorded it and put it on here (for all I know, it probably is out there somewhere). But simply put, the man gets it. So eloquent, so thoughtful, so on point.
Then I heard the clip of my Terp SVP's reaction. He's as sarcastic/irreverent as it gets, 'course, so to hear him break down like he did...yeah, it hit me in a place; almost surreal.
You just had a feeling this was a decent dude. Loved what he did, and it showed. More than that, he really was (to borrow from DWade) a father first. RIPower.
