Sad news to wake up to for all sports fans. He was one of the folks that made Sportscenter bearable, and really changed the game for all anchors. Dude never gave up, and was strong right to the very end. My condolences to his friends and family.

This is deep. I remember watching him every Friday morning on my day off to catch up with the weekly happenings in sports. We grew up with with him in our living rooms and he was with us during some of the most historic sports moments ever. God bless him. RIP salute

Thing that most stands out to me is that even though dude bought his own flavor and his own swag to doing sports broadcasting, he was still as articulate,professional, and intelligent as all of them white colleagues of his if not more so. Probably the most memorable ESPN personality for me of all time I can't think of someone else who comes to mind that pops into my head more resoundingly then him when I think of ESPN. You wanna talk black excellence that's it for you going into a white dominated area or field and making it yours while maintaining your true essence is the purest form of black excellence you can have.
