Apparently, this is the list of new stages that will be put into the game at some point. X-Kira supposedly datamined this.

the S2 Dhalsim, Ken and Zangief stages choices are wack
they better make the metro city slums stage more interesting and like the alpha 3 stage
the alpha 2 beijing stage has potential
the detroit highway and london toilet birdie stage makes no sense...if you're gonna do another birdie stage, do it at a punk nightclub or something
sakuras alpha 3 stage was always wack...if you're gonna do another sakura stage, make it at her arcade job
:blessed: please let the field in a thunderstorm stage be true...that's the only stage i've been praying they put in...its all set up for its return now that sagat is in the game
the usa subway station is kinda basic but it's iconic so i'll give it a pass
have no problems with the ideas of the new stages or the other stages i haven't mentioned

the only reason i can come to as why they're adding in so many nostalgic stages is 1. laziness in coming up with new ideas and 2. for the arcade mode

but more stages is more stages so...:blessed: lowkey, i think blanka's stage will look amazing. I just wish with these nostalgic stages they'd at least switch it up a lil bit. vega's nostaligic stage is one of the worst stages in the game imo

I'll be here since it's in my city and I've been getting back into the FGC. If you're close or just want to travel to a pretty good event should think about this one.

I posted this in the locker room, but I'll post it here, rather than make an entirely new thread (even though it's about fighting games in general, not specifically SF):

So I'm jumping back into fighting games, and I wonder, how do you all use frame data?

I feel like this is like the analytics of fighting games (like sabermetrics for baseball, for example), it's valuable information that can tell you when and where you might consider using a move, but when you're playing the game at the highest levels it's all reactions (like I can feel myself dragging my character's list of moves out of long-term memory).

It seems like a good learning tool to analyze your fights with and create strategies for the future, but fighting games are all about reactions and executions.

Any fighting game pros wanna comment on how to use frame data and if I'm right or wrong about fighting games being about reactions?

AE looks like it'll be what the game shouldve been at launch
??? That can be said for any further iteration of a SF game

And to expect everything we'll have at the launch of AE to be how the game should've started off is a bit retarded

I think people are really underselling just how big of a leap AE will be from the current version of SFV that we have

Expecting nothing from Capcom is different from expecting the status quo. At launch SFV we got 16 characters, under 10 stages, 2 barebones modes, no story mode, no trials mode.

MKX launched with 24 characters (with distinct fighting styles that basically make them more than 24 characters), substantial story mode, several arcade modes, krypt, interactive stages and faction mode. NRS is the king of singleplayer content for fighting games nowadays so I know the bar is set high there but it shouldn't be unrealistic to expect Capcom to compete :patrice:

SFV was given to us incomplete, and clearly so. They rushed it out so they could cash out on CPT and DLC. It works out for the hardcore/pro players who was gonna play any SF game they can get their hands on because that's their income, and new games usually mean new money, but for everybody else it's just annoying.
