Right. Rappers are supposed to make music not chase clout. This shouldn't be a competition
At the same time, I get it

If you're broke you want to make a life for yourself

A lot of rappers who are only in it for the bag don't have the skillset to be a streamer, like Lil Baby

Yachty was never going to be broke and is just a clown

Not to mention the labels stake in the recording process plus image & likeness

Streaming companies get their cut and after that its all you

Never seen this particular take :ehh:

I honestly think this is the most game changing thing. Youtube is like that as well.

Music industry is gatekept and there are so many people to split the pie with. Labels, Management, Producers, Engineers, Tour companies etc. etc.

With streaming and Youtube you only splitting the pie with one entity and with Twitch it is not even that bad. A sub is like five bucks and you can negotiote it to a 3.50 to 5 dollar split.

WhIch is actually kinda mindblwoing if you think about it :ohhh: . These kids gotta be up like 10 20 30 40 Ms. :mindblown:

Are thet actually known for their music though, or are they just streamers that make music like it’s a hobby?
:yeshrug:I mean Max’s dream is to win a Grammy. DDG is a YouTuber/Streamer turned rapper. It seems like a lot of them take music seriously.
