Is Real Muthaphukkin G'z in this verison?
Nope.Is Real Muthaphukkin G'z in this verison?
I'm not buying this shyt then.Nope.
They really missed an opportunity with not including that and Dre DayI'm not buying this shyt then.
I saw this for the first time tonight. I saw the director's cut so I don't know what's different from that and the theatrical but one thing I didn't like (unless I missed something) was how they just ignored the Eazy-Dre feud. It goes from them showing Eazy get his ass beat by Suge and then the next interaction between Eazy and Dre is when he calls him to get NWA back together, with no mention of Real Muthafukking G's or Dre Day. They just have Eazy talking about how he liked that song Dre did with Snoop, which I assume is referring to Nuthin but a G Thang, like if they didn't go at each other on a couple songs. The director's cut is close to 3 hours long and they couldn't have added a little something about that?
Other than that though, I really liked it.
That dude that played 2Pac looks exactly like him
thing is everyone is saying they did eazy dirty yet every film review says eazy is the best and most complex character in the film. so you can say they did him dirty in the sense that he got beat down by suge and his boys, and they showed his money depleting, but in film, the best gift you can give is for someone to have the best story arc, and nuanced characterisation. cube and dre are pretty much one note. when the film ends, your heart is clearly with eazy who had a tragic ending. you happy for dre and cube that they managed to build upon initial setbacks, but the person you really respect is eazy in where he came from and what he was instrumental in building.
if you want to know how dirty the music industry is, and how it will chew you up and spit you out, eazy pretty much personifies that journey. dude was a hero to me in the film not in an invincible superman way, but in how he tried to do the best for every one. ha had a hard balancing act, to take care of his boys, and still deal with heller who got him insider access, keep his girl happy with that big house etc. you see him struggling with that, and by the time he realises, he gets HIV and dies. if that aint tragic i dont know what is.
only if you believe eazy was some kinda untouchable gangster a la scarface or michael corleone can you feel he got done dirty in this.
Eazy is the best thing about the film because the actor did a tremendous job portraying him. The second half of the film, after the breakup, is where they shift the focus from Eazy to Cube & Dre and the movie suffers from it. It's also heavy fiction from then on out. They could've had the truth, because he still died of AIDS. They could've put in the rift between he and Dre. His success without them wouldn't have hindered the movie or Jason Mitchell's performance.
Oh yeah, added in the extended
DOC, Dre, Warren G (he was in the film after all LOL) and Snoop in the car smoking that chronic, alluding to that being where the name for the album came from
NO fukkING WAY that it was portrayed like THIS?! RIGHT?!
I think I'll cut the movie off right before Hail Mary starts.
Pac giddy as fukk to meet Dre, Dre telling Pac to 'stay in the booth, I got this' and proceeding to Suge and his piru goon.
That was just so fukking dumb
