thing is everyone is saying they did eazy dirty yet every film review says eazy is the best and most complex character in the film. so you can say they did him dirty in the sense that he got beat down by suge and his boys, and they showed his money depleting, but in film, the best gift you can give is for someone to have the best story arc, and nuanced characterisation. cube and dre are pretty much one note. when the film ends, your heart is clearly with eazy who had a tragic ending. you happy for dre and cube that they managed to build upon initial setbacks, but the person you really respect is eazy in where he came from and what he was instrumental in building.
if you want to know how dirty the music industry is, and how it will chew you up and spit you out, eazy pretty much personifies that journey. dude was a hero to me in the film not in an invincible superman way, but in how he tried to do the best for every one. ha had a hard balancing act, to take care of his boys, and still deal with heller who got him insider access, keep his girl happy with that big house etc. you see him struggling with that, and by the time he realises, he gets HIV and dies. if that aint tragic i dont know what is.
only if you believe eazy was some kinda untouchable gangster a la scarface or michael corleone can you feel he got done dirty in this.
he went from the man when NWA was together to a broke emo crybaby bum when Dre and Cube left and that's not how it happened in real life
