Having songs about balling etc, then hating on others that do the same makes you a sucka and fraud. I've diagnosed your problem though. You're green with envy that you're nobody, nothing and other rappers whom rap similar topics to you have lapped you a million times. It's a much more comfortable place to live in Fantasy where you're super dope and being held back cause you're too hip hop,for the culture and real. But really, you're fake, wack and corny. But I understand why you would rather live in your fantasy than accept the harsh realities.

Dude, I don't want to try to speak for Art, but I don't think that anybody's saying that merely making songs about street shyt and balling made you a sellout. It's WHO YOU DO IT FOR and WHY you are doing it.

If you're a street nikka appealing to street nikkaz, that's not sellout shyt. That's culture shyt.

If you're a street nikka (like Jay) creating palatable street shyt for Beckys and wiggers, then THAT is some sellout shyt.

Jay, Puff, 50, nikkaz like that were making TRL type records that helped shift Hip-HOp culture from the streets to the suburbs, which is why Hip-Hop is in the fukked up predicament it's in now.

Your post makes no sense. So basically, every rapper that ever had mainstream distribution is a sell out?

And since you feel obligated to speak for him,why is he making these type of songs and why are they?

Wrong.

Any rapper who "dumbs down his lyrics to double his profits" is a sellout.

It's not about having mainstream distribution. It's about purposely changing who you are and what you're about to sell records to White kids and idiots.

Jay-Z has admitted that multiple town in his lyrics, including when he said that if skills sold he'd be rhyming like Common.

He admitted that he only says what makes him money. That's the definition of a sellout

And since you feel obligated to speak for him,why is he making these type of songs and why are they?

I don't know Art personally, but I'm saying that I don't have a problem with a street nikka making street records for street nikkaz.

I have a problem with a street nikka making pop records for White kids and calling it street music in order to make himself a billionaire

At you actually thinking your viewpoint is a good one. You're a fool. nikkas give up all types of rights to white folks,in order to take a quick road to success, get on white owned radio stations to sell records to the masses. That's a fact. Jay never said he as trying to sell to whites in that line u referred to. Nor was he being someone he wasn't. All he did was simplify how he actually feels for those with minds not as quick as his. You're a weirdo and make no sense

Yes, many Black people do give up all kinds of rights to White folks to take a quick road to success.

Those people are called sellouts. Just consult any Malcolm X or Martin Luther King speech for reference

And exactly who was Jay dumbing down his lyrics to double his profits for? nikkaz?

Why would nikkaz need him to dumb down his lyrics? :jbhmm:

I'm not a weirdo, you're a fakkit ass new millennium bytch who doesn't know shyt about Hip-Hop culture, therefore all you new bytches try to rewrite the rules so your hoe asses don't look so bytch made

1.Well i asked you if everyone with mainstream distribution were were sell outs and you said no it wasnt about that.
It's not about having mainstream distribution.

Change your mind?

2.He's dumbing down his lyrics to make them more digestible to to people with slower minds or dont want to decipher everything and like more straight talk. Nothing to do with white folks vs nikkas. Plenty of white hiphop fans appreciate complex lyrics. Also plenty of black hiphop fans appreciate simplicity. You never quite no,some of us like both.

3.Lmao,i was born in the 70's. I break danced,mc'd,tried to dj and did graffiti in the 80's.

ALSO,anyone whom really knows hiphop, knows that simple rhymes to rock the party existed before any of the other shyt dummy

Ayo,...
so, this sellout nikka gets to use all the sellout jiggaboo time imagery and throw he was a sellout in your face.
simply cause he soul'd out to make all his money.
Then try to make it like it was a great business decision.
while him and the clown who ruined everything about rap gloat about it on record and in Forbes.
yet nikkaz is ignoring this.

y'all some hoes for that.

art barr

I dont know man..

History is filled with artists who did stuff like what Jay doing.

James Brown can make songs like Hot Pants and then turn around and make Black and Proud. I dont know if any person is really one thing. Its human.

I think music should be made according to mood and life.
