POF is cool, but truth is, girls get so many messages on there, even average looking ones, that they get gassed the fukk up. I been using it for about a year, here are my stories...
1) 23 year old chick, DIME status, but crazy in the head. She messaged me out of no where askin to hang out and go see a movie with her and her friends. That seemed like an awkward situation so I said nah and tried to rain check it. Cut to 11:30PM on a weeknight, she texts me to say that she's bored and wanted to hang out. I knew what was up, but somehow, I dropped the ball, and it didn't happen. We continued to hang out and not gonna lie brehs, I caught feelings a lil bit, but she was a headcase and her ex was still in the picture so I kept her at a distance. Oh, and when I added her to my FB, saw she was cool with my ex of 2 years bff, so yeah, bullet dodged. I've learned all African broads in this city seem to know each other.
2) 25 year old chick from Zambia. Her pics made her seem cuter than she is, but she has a nice body. First date was chillin at my apartment. Super laid back, we hung out, played PS3, watched Anchorman and fukked. When it was gettin late, and she was like "I think I should go", I made some comment about headin to the bedroom before she left. She made a face that made me think I blew it, but we ended up smashing, and I still get it in from time to time. She's unreal in bed but not wifey status. We smashed the day before Ramadan started and then she was gettin mad flaky so between that and the idiocy I cut her off.

Yea they deep in SS. My mans up there. He lovin it and always on Md campus. I'm in the process of moving but I might just move to Bowie tho. shyt too expensive in NoVA. Honestly, if you're havin no success with the free shyt, might be worth spendin the $10 or whatever for the pay sites. Though if youre just lookin to smash, pay sites might not be a good idea because I get the impression those things are mostly used by people lookin for love and marriage and such.
