People act like they know Obama personally and getting all emotional. If he hasn't addressed the problem..he will never address it, he could care-less. He can address the massacre in Colorado but not the killings in Chicago. He won't address the 140 people ( Black Men and Women) killed by Police this year either.

This guy has been banned from this thread. He's just blatantly trolling.

He's one of the ones I was referring to, you should just ban him from hl honestly. It's not even witty.

I feel the same way. I have no problem with trolls as long as they're actually clever and funny

my point was more like I see NY/CA doing totally extreme sh1t. Like how Oakland and now Orange County have reacted to protests in the last year. & NY's random police killings of unarmed black dudes etc. Is there not a skew? Like I said if all this was going down in South Carolina or wherever it'd just fit into a racial pattern but when it comes to Seattle, San Francisco the general 'liberal' nature of the area seems out of proportion from the amount of police brutality

I think I may have been responding to the TS. Should've quoted what I was responding to.

This shyt happens everywhere. Go to any community that has a significant black population and you'll have evidence of it. I think it might get more exposure/attention in some areas because the overall population (including the black population) is bigger.

Police can be brutal regardless of how liberal/conservative you might think a place is.

It's not as though it were a hypothetical. I agree, but it does serve as a deterrent. It's not a justification for stop and frisk, if there is no action by the police though things can quickly spiral out of control. I personally I don't want to get frisked. I haven't yet as far as stop and frisk goes knock on wood. I dream of the day I can go without seeing a single policeman.

I responded to that example not because I thought it was a hypothetical, but because something like that happening seems so rare as to be a hypothetical example. Turnstile jumpers seem less like armed criminals and more like the petty fare-beaters that most of them are. The reason I doubt stop-and-frisk is an effective deterrent is because so few stops result in arrests. Which tells me the average NYPD officer has an awful sense of who's a criminal or about to commit a crime.

eh dammed if you do , dammed if you dont.

I believe any type of policing involves a certain level of profiling.

If crime was up like in the mid/early 90's in NYC there would be outcry over how little the cops are doing but something ( not necessarily stop n frisk alone) but a combination of things is working to keep the city safer than its ever been.
