I don't think people should be subject to police interference if they aren't breaking the law or encroaching on other peoples rights. Unfortunately that isn't the way it is.
Does this law save lives? Yes. Is it discriminatory? Absolutely.

I downloaded a podcast maybe 4-6 months ago from NPR and it was an interview with the former Police Chief or Commissioner Kelly maybe? Anyways he gave his two cents and it made sense. Statistics back it up and he gave some good examples. One example was there was a cop posted on a subway platform, a guy hopped the turnstile and had a gun in his waste band and mac 11 in his bag. If the cop wasn't there looking for people breaking small infractions this guy could have done whatever he had planned.

The city is much safer then when I grew up here. It really wasn't safe at night

because you don't have to be a criminal to be stopped; a cop just has to believe you are.

I personally just don't see why at the start of every shift a cop has to turn on a small camera that records audio and video and feeds into a 16gb jump drive of sorts.

Lay all this BS to rest and help aid prosecutions as well as curb corruption.

a stop and frisk isn't an arrest, it is simply 5 minutes out of your time, like this is enough for concern :childplease:

What the fukk kind of logic is this:heh:

nikka I'm trying to walk down the street without having my rights violated. Might as well let the police stop and frisk your house, it's only 20 minutes out of your time:upsetfavre:

I'm pretty sure most people busted for hopping the turnstile are just folks who, rather than being armed to the teeth and up to no good, were unarmed, cheap/broke, and just wanted to catch the train to get to wherever they were going. It's a nice story, but it's hardly a justification for systemic harassment of black and Latino men.

It's not as though it were a hypothetical. I agree, but it does serve as a deterrent. It's not a justification for stop and frisk, if there is no action by the police though things can quickly spiral out of control. I personally I don't want to get frisked. I haven't yet as far as stop and frisk goes knock on wood. I dream of the day I can go without seeing a single policeman.

True enough. Eisenhower, JFK and LBJ sent the FBI goons to investigate corrupt and racist police departments during their Presidencies. All Obama has done is asked the Homeland Security department to assist police in cracking down on Occupy protesters and asked the DEA to crack down on legal marijuana dispensaries. He sent the FBI down to Florida for the Martin case when the GOP Governor Rick Scott already had the ball rolling on an investigation and charges.

There's been a lot of black men killed by the police in my city. fukk Obama for not doing anything about it. Obama hasn't done anything about my neighbors littering yet either. I can't believe I voted for that c00n and he hasn't investigated my racist homeowners association.
