i'm not upset, it's just a matter of principle. I believe marriage should be between opposite sex.

It doesn't matter if it's a small fee. Benefits for normal marriage exists to encourage couples to make and raise babies properly which helps further our society. Gay marriage has no benefit to us at all.
In the first year New York legalized it, they raised $259,000,000 in license fees and wedding-related spending.
Boosts business which further assists in helping our already shytty economy.
Economists calculated that if all states legalized it, we would be ranking $20-40 million more per year in taxes.
It's already been proven it would save the government hundreds of millions per year in government safety net programs such as welfare and food stamps.
It further promotes equality and non-discrimination in our society.
Tired of the "brainwashing gay propaganda" as you like to call it? Legalize it and it basically assists in de-politicizing LBGT rights meaning you'll hear less of them complaining.

So yeah, we do actually benefit from gay marriage. And get the fukk out of here with that "raising babies properly" bullshyt. They've already done enough testing that proves gay parents are just as capable as raising kids as heterosexual parents. :camby:

you can get married to the opposite sex...

and my issue to fix it is very simple its called a same sex union that gives same sex couples the same legal rights as a married person for all social security estate and tax issues

and in fact I would even change the legal name of opposite sex marriage as Legal Unions and take the word marriage out of the legal system and leave it to tradition and religion

You are 100% right.

The problem is that the detractors are so homophobic and prejudice they don't even want to give gays this light concession. Its really them kicking and screaming like a baby because they aren't getting their way is their motivation. I don't think anyone with logic can view this as a non-viable solution

You're spouting typical "brainwashing gay propaganda". How the hell does people getting married generate more taxes than two of them being single? Single person pays more taxes on income, property, estate transfer and everything else, and get less in deductions. Congressional budget office estimated that benefits for same sex couple will cost federal government almost a billion dollars in 10 years.

nikka, all you've been doing in this thread is deflecting.

Says he doesn't give a fukk what gay people do, but is upset they want to redefine marriage. :lupe:

Says he doesn't want to pay taxes for gay marriage, but ignores it's a small fee compared to what we're already paying for regular marriages. :lupe:

Says the meaning of marriage should be about procreation, and posts a video of a c00n who knows less about the subject than he does to back up his claim. :lupe:

You easily could've saved all this time debating and just said at the start, "I just don't like gay people."
:umad:

:mjlol:

This could have saved us a page. These dudes are homophobes and hate gay people and using a man made book to justify their hate.

I never understood the concept of the word "homophobe" I don't think anyone is scared of them. I don't like them trying to refine the concept of genders and family. I also don't like this widespread media brainwash of trying to force their opinions on people.

The vast majority also don't give a shyt one way or the other. Stone Cold did this rehearsed, pro-gay marriage rant for possible movie roles and acceptance in Hollywood. It can be very lucrative in that world to be outspoken about these things.

nobody gives a fuk what gays do in private. issue is them trying to redefine marriage which has always been between opposite genders even before bible or any religion. now everybody has to support gay marriage or else their career is over.

Hope you know that interracial unions between men and women were illegal at point.

i dont give a fuk what gays do in private. u dont need marriage license to screw each other. i care about marriage because its a civil issue and gonna cost taxpayers money.

But marriage licenses put money into the local governments pockets.

Just admit your are homophobic. Because is clear as day that you don't know the long and real history about legal marriage.
Also, people can have children and raise them properly without being married.

This has been going on through out history for ages. Modern technology just change the game.

And folks are repulsed by people of different races.

Also, why are we looking to Hollywood for moral standards?

I think you mean REDEFINE and who is brainwashing or forcing you to like somebody's sexual orientation? It seems to me like ya'll are threatened by gay people enough you think there's some "agenda" out to get straight people.

Take your tin foil hat off, please.

there's definitely an agenda to ostracize people who admit that they get sick to their stomach at the thought of homosexuality and want to distance themselves from it as much as possible (i.e. the vast majority of people, although most people are smart enough to not admit it in this day and age)

in other words, people who don't want to live in a west hollywood-esque cesspool are branded as "homophobic"

That cesspool includes straight people too.

This whole thread is stupid. I'm out. The ignorance is overflowing. smdh

There is a proper way for people that don't agree with homosexuality to get their point across without demeaning others and resorting to any form of hate.

And referring to an area with a high homosexual population as a cesspool is the fastest way to lose credibility during a discussion and leave all heterosexuals to high scrutiny.
