Come on now breh lol. All those pie jokes, got stale after a while. Most of the rock promos back then were cool as a kid, but as a grown man, they were lame and corny. Austin was the definition of bad ass, and the everyday man could relate to him more than the rock
In all honesty
I was more of NWO/Heel Hulk Hogan fan:yeshrug:
Then Generation X was next
But to stay on topic of this thread
The Rock was just too much fukkery :russ:
Maybe it’s identity politics
Before that we had pimps, a voodoo man from Africa, a nikka from a junkyard, and another nikka with a parrot on his shoulder
That were very:mjpls:in representation
But I still hold those wrestlers dear to my childhood
Just like the Samoan/Tongan flying bredren:wow:
The Rock just had the swag that represented US at the time
Now he just kinda:mjpls:that side to him
Which is kind of sad:francis:
Mankind is my other GOAT honorable mention
As well as when Sting took on The Crow persona:wow:

Both are 1A and 1B, it’s all about preference

Rock was swagged out but could be corny

Austin was a bad ass that just wanted to kick ass but doesn’t have rock’s crossover success

tough question :wow:

The Rock.

Their promo skills are basically a wash, but the Rock gets the edge for having the more memorable wrestling matches. Some of my favorite matches from the Attitude Era featured the Rock:

Ladder Match SS '98
Backlash 2000
Triple threat cage match with Mankind & Shamrock (underrated classic).

Because after the Owen Hart match Austin was limited as an in ring performer.

He is the only wrestler to outsell hogan in merchandise and practically saved wwe during the wcw Monday night wars.
