Sting fans, do you really think he was ready for the torch going into 98?

well when you're the goat, you need to be very selective with who you decide to put over. a clean win against hogan might as well be a blessing from the pope in the world of pro wrestling. only a chosen few have ever been given the right.

if hogan loses clean there, can he still put over goldberg later in the year?
Big Show beat him from the get go...where did that get him? LOL. Luger beat him on Nitro? Went right back under Sting in no time:laugh:

so why do you think hogan was so adamant about not losing clean?

the rematch money? Or just ego perhaps?

That's just how he is..he was old and loved being on top and making easy money while being in the spotlight. You think a guy like that wants to give someone else credit for a successful period such as that?

lol actually you know what? I forgot that hogan actually DID lose clean to sting at superbrawl. I actually watched it live.

I'll shut up now.

but still... the jury is out on whether or not sting was fit to be THE MAN

Define "clean"

Macho Man and a spray paint can came into play there too.

Sting owns more unreturned wins over Hogan than anyone on PPV in history. A point I used to antagonize hogan fans with but still. ..

the fact that I don't even remember the spray can thing is evidence of how forgettable it probably was.

but when you factor in that he put over piper AND luger, it is perplexing that he did not put over stinger...especially in that spot.

He was already the franchise before that, it should have been a return

he was the franchise for a minor league team though. do you believe he was ready to be a top guy in the majors? would wcw have been better off pushing sting in favor of hogan?

i honestly don't know. i am hoping to hear good insight and opinions from both sides.
