obama did have a mortgage relief program during the Great Recession. It was for federal loans tho

I don't want to go too in depth because nikkas in here get real emotional if you say anything negative about obeezy

Long story short he gave responsibility for homeowner relief to banks who had a financial incentive to foreclose. His program didn't do a good job helping main street, and a lot of people lost a lot of wealth.

Every bill has unintended consequences

that's not how that works. unintended consequences generally refer to things that are not in the bill's main purview. Like if gov't mandates better ADA coverage but it causes wood shortages.
A bill designed to prevent foreclosure that doesn't prevent foreclosures is just a bad bill.
