That's fine but at some point he shouldnt be relying on it as a certainty. I've said I'm fine with the UI and the bonuses. It's necessary. He should at least be searching the market for other jobs in the event his job never comes back. If I was unemployed that long I'd be very nervous and absolutely expecting the job not to come back at all. I dont know if he is searching or not but it doesnt seem like it. Businesses can very easily be telling people their job will be waiting for them just to keep them from getting something else then pull the rug out from under them. It also seems as though he has a good resume and qualifications and has his own business plan ready to go. He should plan to move on and not rely on congress to extend what his status quo was.
Also, him saying he deserves to get UI bonuses because he has a good degree? He is not entitled to have his previous standard of living handed to him for a year plus because he has a good degree. Is the opposite true where people who have a bad or no degree do not deserve it? It came off as elitist and ridiculous.
Dems have to make sure the GOP is ok before passing anything. It's like they havent paid attention these last four years. Fukk the GOP. Theyre still in power the longer this drags out. If Biden wanted to cement his legacy after the GOP obstruction continues nuke the filibuster and pass everything on the list from Covid relief, DC/PR Statehood, expand courts and healthcare. I also think the UI bonuses should not be taxable as they are compensation for the govt itself fukking up. And covid related unemployment with taxes removed should be included in the tax refund or used as a deduction. That it and of itself would be a stimulus
