GA gave ya the Senate! Make it rain Joe!
According to Bloomberg News, “Biden will seek a deal with Republicans on another round of COVID-19 relief, rather than attempting to ram a package through without their support.”

Bloomberg adds: “The approach could mean a smaller initial package that features some priorities favored by Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell. The idea is to forgo using a special budget process that would remove the need to get the support of at least 10 Republicans in the Senate.”

HuffPost is now a part of Verizon Media

The stimulus package has a price tag above $1.5 trillion and includes a commitment for $1,400 stimulus checks, according to a source familiar with the proposal, and Biden is expected to commit to partner with private companies to increase the number of Americans getting vaccinated.

A significant portion of the additional financial resources will be dedicated to minority communities. “I think you will see a real emphasis on these underserved communities, where there is a lot of hard work to do,” said another transition official.

Biden plans to introduce his package during a prime-time address on Thursday evening, underscoring the seriousness of the topic, but he will have to compete for attention with the political drama in Washington.

So dependents over 17 will get it? Is it 1400 or 2000 for them since they haven’t qualified in the past?

what about older parents who are taken care (dependent) of by their adult children? Do they qualify?

People at those retail stores are gonna be mad as fukk.

Side note, I start a new job on Jan 18th, so I can file for UI thru then right? They've fukked me over for the past 6 weeks which by my math should be about $3600. No way I'm not collecting that money.

How many votes in the senate do we need?

$15 minimum wage :patrice:

Biden wants to pass it by regular order i.e. 60 votes... you need 10 Republicans

I'm sure the Dems in the House and Senate want to put their own spin on things and add some of their priorities too.

But if they did pass it via regular order, the Dems in Congress could wait for Biden to move his infrastructure program through reconciliation that only needs 51 votes.

But Biden only has 3 reconciliation shots. FY21, FY22, and FY23.

So stupid, you gonna extend the moratorium until the fall then allies people to be kicked out during the winter:dahell:

This is Biden's proposal... what passes the Congress may have tweaks. He thinks this can get 60 votes in the Senate.
