So basically, Mitch wants to temporarily boost the economy to tank the economy, temporarily boost Trump's ego, and have the Oligarch Reich Wing further game the refs.

Evil fukk.

i hear you but respectfully partially disagree for the following reason: acceptance by dems still ultimately means that MITCH has to shoot it down

so we would have seen mitch shoot it down, would trump be as vindictive, maybe now, i think we would have seen a tweet or two tho :salute: all in all it would have been a bad look for repubs pre election

i hear you tho

You bringing in a bunch of hypotheticals for something that was never a given seeing as they had a whole year to not only take the pandemic seriously but provide aid to americans.

Trump only got involved verbally after he lost and Mitch only gave a fukk when GA started looking like his power was slippin.

It's not bad faith if I am a cynic, who therefore believes most people are self interested above all else, and continually see people vote against the greater good because it fulfilled their self interested world view.

I wish people were better, but I'm not going to push pragmatism aside just to rally around a hope for humanity that has never existed, especially in this country.

Meanwhile you've spent 50 years waiting for people to be good people only to waste your life away.

Exactly. Mitch does not care one bit about Trump's temper tantrums. He got the courts packed, so Trump has outlived his usefulness to him.

Mitch could give a fukk about a mean tweet from Trump. What would he worried about, a primary challenge? :heh:
Yet you still have people in here who believe any of this would have been different prior to Nov 4th as if Senators didn't have access to internal polling showing Biden as the favorite to win. It's the whole reason McConnel ignored stimulus to force through ACB to the supreme court. And what did the messaging about McConnell ignoring stimulus and refusing to bring any of the House passed relief bills to the floor of the Senate because appointing another conservative justice was more important do - 100% of nothing.

What's the deal with 230? I know trump doesn't like it but is this another poison pill for mcconnell to hang onto the dems?

Word on the street is they want to add it to blame dems for not voting for relief. It would make the internet way more censored basically but folks like trump won't be able to keep spouting bullshyt.

Also I got suspended from twitter for saying Mitch should have died from Polio so I guess I'm taking an social media break this week. :unimpressed:

Mitch wants to vote on NDAA so they can all go home and figure out how to weather the stimulus check storm. Bernie (and some others) not going to allow that to happen so easily... that's what's going on. Anyone speaking other nonsense is a fukking fool.
Yeah those checks are in the public psyche now. Plus I think it's dress rehearsal for Democrats taking the Senate. Normally I'd have my doubts but the increases stimulus talk might be a game changer...yes even at this late stage.

bernie has been the mvp of both stimulus deals

600 bonus the first time

pushing as hard as possible for the 2k this time

most criticisms are dare i say bad faith
if only he was electable he'd be a star. Falls too short in other areas. I admire his zeal where it counts.

What's the deal with 230? I know trump doesn't like it but is this another poison pill for mcconnell to hang onto the dems?

For example, a disgruntled user of the coli could PM dozens of others a link which contains malware, one of the recipients opens the malware on their work PC which spreads through their company network causing hundreds of thousands in damages and man hours. 230 prevents the coli from being held liable in that instance because per the law, the coli is to moderate its users in good faith but naturally what can and cannot be moderated is a slippery slope.

McConnel and republicans want to attach this because they know its a devisive topic without a consensus one way or the other on either side of the aisle. Trump wants it repealed because he could then lean on social media platforms who allow its users to demean or talk about him in a disparaging way or punish them for what they see as a over censorship of "conservative ideals". This quote really sums this last part up well

To many Democrats, the law allows tech companies to avoid doing more to combat hate speech and disinformation online. To Trump and some other Republicans, it shields them from consequences for censoring conservative voices.
