For example the congressperson where my businesses are is a hardcore Trump supporter and they voted for the $2000 and to override the veto lol...
I think they're a mess right now but there have been serious cracks in the R party throughout Trump's presidency.
I don't think Trump is as in control as a lot of people think. McCarthy could only get 40 something Republicans to vote in favor of the $2000 yesterday.
It really reflects poorly on Trump and the Republican party in general for not only refusing to follow Trump's lead but also for not doing the common sense/populist thing of giving $2000 to the American people. They've really put themselves in bad position but cognitive dissonance and short-term memories reigns.
