The level of open-mindedness in this country is about as close to zero as one can get. I've come to the conclusion that the ability to have an honest dialogue with someone has the same probability as me winning the lottery. People don't form their opinion based on facts, I really don't think they ever have - they form their opinion & then seek the facts to support it or when presented with evidence, start to participate in mental gymnastics.
Hell, just yesterday a breh said something along the lines of "man anyone who wants a job can get one" & showed him that the unemployment / open jobs posting ratio is 1.7. Breh legit restated his talking point 3 posts after mine

Fox News propaganda is powerful. You know what's up when they dedicate more coverage to business owners struggling than the people who are actually losing their lives.
It depends on what unemployment program people were getting paid under and how their state works. The Extended Benefits (EB) program expired on Dec 12th and the MD depart of labor sent an email encouraging those in that program to apply for PUA, which expired Dec 26th.
I doubt any of them have been paid yet. I am/was getting paid via PUA and made my last claim for the year, yesterday. The money will deposit into my account on Wednesday. If they work out a deal before Jan 3rd, I may not miss any payments at all.Some states are way more streamlined, so participants in their programs will feel the brunt immediately.
