Their thought process is probably to get people to spend money fast to jump start the economy when its up and running. They can open it back up but they cant get it started if everyone is broke and scared due to the lock down.

They can either print more money and risk inflation or they could just let businesses shut down.

Republicans wont pass this. I honestly dont expect another check this month. Gonna be weeks of back and forth bickering. Might see one next month unless trump says fukk it and opens the economy back up by June

Regardless the economy ain't coming back anytime soon,:manny: might as well help people with money and when other businesses open up partially the can spend. People still have to buy groceries, pay bills etc. The Republicans are stuck anyways. Whether people get money or not. They are responsible for this pandemic getting this bad.

If this passes, people who live very similar lives to those making like 75,000 to 120,000 because of loans, obligations, et al., will feel a way. Those people are going to get a major windfall for this. That's why these programs should be universal.

Maybe it will overtime.

lotta businesses arent closed yet, but will be closed for good with another cpl months of this shyt :yeshrug: so those jobs are gone forever, etc

I’ve heard a couple of days ago on the news that most if not all of the jobs that were created since 2010 are gone. Thats pretty bad :francis:I don’t know how this will get better anytime soon even with those places reopening. Guess we’ll have to wait and see. Some big companies like Apple will be opening soon though.

Americans should brace for even more gut-wrenching news on unemployment.

“It’s really around 23, 24% of people who are out of work today, and if this is a gradual recovery the way I think it’s going to be, those folks are going to need more help."
