People don't want the same thing in a superhero movie that they want in a boxing match/mma fight.
You can dress a fighter/wrestler like Spiderman & it's cool, but if he's jumping, flipping, and spinning all over the place like Spiderman, then the fight loses all semblance of realism. It doesn't look flashy, it looks fake.

Paul Heyman is old.
They can all still produce, as can a seasoned booker. All of the best bookers, have been people like Paul Heyman with decades of experience.

LU never got the kind of rating AEW Dark is currently getting on YouTube, much less what Dynamite is getting...and Smackdown on FOX tops out at 3 million viewers. That's on a good Friday.

These are huge numbers you're mentioning in todays streaming climate. What data led you to believe these expectations were reasonable?

Lucha Underground wasn't being funded by the billionaire owner of a football team with the connections to get on one of the biggest cable TV networks.

If you gave Lucha AEW's money & exposure, they'd absolutely do that and more.

Lucha in it's first 3 seasons was one of the best shows on TV, period, not just wrestling.

Its that bad? I haven't seen shyt all year.

The first year, they were okay and then COVID hit, so I gave them some grace because they were effected by the pandemic, but now, Tony's booking is getting more nonsensical, the women's division is the drizzling shyts, Cody's wrestling Shaq for no reason whatsoever with a chick named Red Velvet, The Young Bucks are corny.

I thought they were gonna be like an American New Japan, but instead, they're like a highly funded vanity indy instead.

Oh yeah, Matt Hardy has gone from talking to a drone to being a sleazy wrestling manager for some reason

So much makes no sense at all.

I'm a huge fan of LU and I definitely believe it would've been more popular had it been funded more. But saying it would've been more popular than Dynamite is just a guess.

With that said, Dynamite is frequently in the top 3 most watched shows on cable on Wednesday. It's not underperforming.

Disco, for his credit, was the GOAT groupie. Made a mean cup of coffee and did all the bytchwork for us in 99 for free. Has a good mind for the business, but given where he is in life, he shouldn't be taking shots at people making multi-mullion dollar moves.

a few of the people knocking it just not gonna like the product no matter what and just nitpick on the most random shyt.

Like it’s crazy to be like “why is Cody having a match with Shaq” but then was cool years ago with Big Show having a match with Mayweather, Bad Bunny currently being a title holder, or many other times similar shyt happened in ANY fed when a pro athlete got into an angle with a wrestler.

Asuka won only 1 singles match in 2021

Riddle, Miz and Morrison and Big E are corny as fukk..... but we still give them a pass. I rocks with Big E and still hopes he will be a champ like Lashley, but he is corny as fukk.
