Steve Urkel character intended to only appear once?

It makes you wonder "if this was real" why Steve never created a potion that would have let him become Stefan but still have Steve's mindset and some of his personality? Basically have Stefan's style and swag but still be the genius who loves cheese? They had Steve just completely change into a new dude but both personalites still remembers what the other side does but can't access any of their abilities for some reason: Stefan could not use Steve's intelligent mind nor Steve could use Stefan's mojo... seemed like a low rate Doctor Who parody in hindsight

Then he'd never change back to the original urkel, the character that people loved in the first place. Those transformation episodes were always a plot device for some laughs but by the end of each episode, they have to hit the reset switch.

at people liking the original Urkel. It would have been cool had Steve tone down the nerdiness little by little as the seasons go by on some self imporvement with life lessons but nope he was annoying every damn season

Really? I can't imagine Happy Days without Fonzie, if there was no Topanga then what would Corey be chasing after ? The Janitor seems like he was solely there just to fukk with JD which is 1/3 of why I loved Scrubs.... we could have did fine without Mimi

Overall, I wasn't a big fan of the show. Urkel was a huge part of it. In real life he would have probably been secretly strangled and thrown in the ocean with concrete shoes.


He was an annoyance more then a loveable character

He was the best and the worst thing to happen to the show. He made the show but at the same time as it went on he drove it off the rails.

It's also sad Family Matters never got a real final episode and just got canceled. I wish they'd do some type of revival or TV movie.

Has Any show had a change like later years family matters ?? Niccas were turning invisible , goinb into space , turning into Bruce lee and all kinds of fukkery .

Steve was a natural as a kid


As he got older he had to try to be Urkel,and it was hard to watch

Steve saved the show first,and then Myra came along to add a t*ts,i mean twist in the show....Is this nikka Urkel gon turn down this cute new girl for a chick who been tellin him to go to hell for a decade now?...Steve saved the show first,then Myra saved it the second time

The spinoff was weird. Harriet was the elevator lady in Perfect Strangers and then they put her in the new show "Family Matters" but there was really no crossover. It seemed like she got laid off almost immediately and they never mentioned Larry or Balki from what I remember.

Screech was fukking garbage. I can see why kids liked him but as an adult I hate that fukker. I watch reruns of that show sometimes and that wack ass character really kills the flow of the show.

We all watched it but that show was honestly I remember it started out as some basic kids in the Midwest then all of a sudden they all live in Malibu and they're all ridiculous caricatures of the different high school stereotypes. So many of the details of the show shifted wildly without reason. It's not a surprise that the characters on the show always thought they were one episode away from getting canceled.

Balki showed his uglier third-world side one day and harrassed Harriet about lazy, myposian, black sheeps. She complained to management but they did nothing. She quit in disgust.
