Thing is with soccer you arent going to take it coast to coast and score unless something crazy happens. That can't be the way you normally expect to play. You gotta depend on other folks for you to score. That's what Kerr talking about.

Not that soccer is the answer, but surely franchises will try to adopt the philosophies that the Warriors have instilled. GS is doing something no other franchise is doing, and over the last decade nobody has even tried to replicate or borrow from it.

Being cross disciplinary in anything is a positive but it’s not the end all be all. shyt, more basketball players should do Tai Chi imo especially players that depend on scoring in the post, soccer is very obvious for footwork and but football is also great to help with physicality. Baseball and Boxing require a lot of hand/eye coordination that would do wonders in terms of playing defense.

Point is, if you have a son and want them to have the best chance to succeed then they should be involved in as many sports as possible that develop different skills.

Soccer also has angles you have to see/learn (cutting and passing) that are really the same as hoop, balancing the court, knowing how far to penetrate and kick to stay out of trouble, creativity with/without the ball and some other shyt. It won’t help as much in adults but instilling that in kids will go a long way.

I’m glad it’s finally kinda getting adopted outside of rich white kids and Hispanics in America. Most accessible sport in the world and the shyt has damn near been inaccessible stateside.

This is the little stuff I don’t know because I never got to play soccer in an organized fashion. But I’m willing to bet a child that does multiple sports will be able to excel in basketball easier.

Uncertain grounds
I recall hearing a stat like 30/32 nfl 1st rounders played multiple sports or something like that. Unfortunately they did not list off the percentages from later rounds to show the disparity if any.

I don't think its debatable that multiple sports help an athlete in their primary sport though, both mentally and physically

I mean really we all did.. There needs to be a lot more nuance to that.. When did they play them? Did they letter in them? What were they?

I know a lot of sports stars ran track or simply played another sport to keep in shape.. How many were great in each sport at a college/high school varsity level?
