Stephen Silas ‘broke down in tears’ after a game earlier this year because he felt he couldn't connect with his team, per @WindhorstESPN

tenure?

we're talking active criticisms and defense of a coach. folks were blaming everyone BUT steve nash for that bullshyt in brooklyn
my guy people were defending nash letting KD run at center :mjlol: on any given night, he didn't even know what the bonus was or when he could even make substitutions. this clown spent years acting like claxton couldn't be trusted to be tall. with hall of famers and seasoned vets, his go-to play was a screen and roll floater for Bruce Brown most nights
Yea, 2 :mjtf: 2 seasons and 7 games. You sayin all that like he got away with it. He was fired about as quickly as you can logically expect a coach to be fired

im saying that nash was defended by many at the expense of others' reputations, constantly, until he was fired his ineptitude was finally impossible to ignore.

silas is literally a scapegoat for an entire franchise's dysfunction and cannot quit without forfeiting his salary along with further damaging his reputation.

this is easy to keep up with lol

I'm not going to shyt on him because he was probably grinding to get a HC job and took the Houston job despite the team being a mess. Truthfully I don't see anyone turning it around under current ownership.
He took the Houston job expecting to coach Harden and Russ, instead he inherited a rebuilding franchise. Still doesn’t relieve him of having no back bone and constantly crying on the job because the team he’s responsible sucks.

You still not making sense bruh. All he had to do was show some improvement in year 3, get them to play hard. He did neither.

There is nothing unique about his situation, coaches get fired despite it not being entirely their fault all the time

Don't think any head coach who respects his acumen will be beating down the door to coach KPJ AND Green, but Snyder just jumped at a long term commitment centered around Trae Bung, so I guess anything is possible

Team full of AAU babies that never won anything at any level, who don’t play defense, don’t value the basketball and don’t respect authority.

Josh Christopher and Kevin Porter can make damn near any locker room toxic. If they back their way into Victor, anyone not named Sengun, Jabari, Jalen or Eason can count their days.

In general, these are pretty crazy stats and it really goes to show that plenty of these teams picks that high are basically bad situations:

Of the other 26 players taken first in the draft since 1985, just three have gone on to win championships:
Shaquille O'Neal, LeBron James and Glenn Robinson

Only five top 5 picks have won championships going back nearly 15 years (and three of them were on the same team).

Player-year drafted-position drafted-championship year
Kyrie Irving200812016
Kevin Love201152016
Tristan Thompson201142016
Anthony Davis201212020
Dion Waiters201242020

In addition to them, going back to 2000, only 15(?) total top 5 picks have won championships the last 23 years:
LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Mike Miller, Dwyane Wade.
Shaun Livingston, Andrew Bogut and KD for the Warriors.
Pau Gasol, Dwight Howard and Tyson Chandler.

The NBA first instituted the draft lottery in 1985.
In the 28 drafts since then, only one franchise that has ever won the lottery has become the champion at any point afterwards: the San Antonio Spurs (if you don't count LeBron going back to Cleveland).

Where the hell you get this from? The stats are contradicting itself. It says only 3 number one picks since 1985 have gone on to win championships and then right below lists how AD and Kyrie also were #1 picks that won championships. As well as David Robinson and Tim Duncan.

Also the Warriors and Bucks have won the draft lottery and both have won championships. It should've said has won a championship with the player drafted #1. Maybe this article makes since in the context of the whole article but without the context surrounding the rest it makes no sense.
