Great read. Ali fought absolutely everybody. Can't deny his greatness, no matter what people say

And as it pertains to "you know who": If you really wanna keep it funky, he ain't even the greatest boxer in his own home state :manny:

Ali did fight a gang of bums in his career though especially after the Foreman fight. But when you fight anybody I guess you will rack up some cab drivers on your resume

He fought 14 times after Foreman, going 11-3. He did fight some "bums" (Joe Bugner, Jean-Pierre Coopman, Richard Dunn, and Alfredo Evangelista)...but he also fought Chuck Wepner, Ron Lyle, Joe Frazier, Jimmy Young, Ken Norton, Earnie Shavers, Leon Spinks 2x, Larry Holmes, and Trevor Berbick. Those were some good opponents.

Brolic... Alcoholics
My wife's coworker is a Floydie. And I had to break down why I thought Sugar Ray Robinson is probably the best fighter ever followed by Ali and then Hopkins.

Dude was legit mad that I didn't say Floyd.

I agree bruh. Ali fought basically every heavyweight in the world after 1974. I think Ali really has a bulletproof resume, you really cant find one champion fighter that doesnt have a few bums on their resume

Yeah, I know you wasnt dissing him.

Ali fought nikkas anywhere. His house.....their house....his momma's house lol

Dude was the Heavyweight Champion, #1 fighter and most popular boxer in the world, and was fighting weaker opponents in THEIR hometown:dead:

He earned that title "The Greatest Ever" in the ring and he only has 2 losses on his resume that he didnt avenge...Holmes and Berbick. And those were his last 2 fights period:manny:

It's a shame that money problems and the Nation Of Islam forced him to keep taking fights.

I wish that movie would've went up to at least the 3rd fight with Frazier instead of ending with the Foreman fight

I wish it would've went up to the rematch win against Leon Spinks....his final victory and which was supposed to be his "retirement match" and the match where he became the 1st person in history to win the Heavyweight Title 3x:blessed:

stop reading when he brought up Floyd Patterson and Archie Moore who were washed up in ali beat them

When Ali fought Archie Moore, yes, Moore was on his last legs...it was his 2nd to last fight after a long career, however, for Ali, he was only 21 years old and had only 15 professional fights before then. Archie Moore was a "step up" fight for him...similar to Canelo Alvarez beating Shane Mosley.

Floyd Patterson was washed up when Ali beat him though?:dahell:

He was 30 years old, 8-2 in his previous 10 fights (including 2 victories over Ingemaar Johansson and 1 over George Chuvalo). His 2 losses were to prime Sonny Liston who is an ATG Heavyweight.

Come on breh:comeon:

Maybe you should read a little more of Breadman's answer to learn more about Muhammad Ali.

Floyd Patterson had already lost his title and was never a champ again, he was washed up

Floyd Patterson had already lost his title and was never a champ again, he was washed up

Muhammad Ali fought Floyd Patterson for the World Heavyweight Championship in 1965, and Patterson was 30 years old.

It was only 2 belts in boxing for Heavyweights from 1965-1972 when Patterson retired...the WBA (came into existence in 1965) and the WBC (came into existence in 1970). Prime Joe Frazier held BOTH belts from 1970-72 when Patterson retired. He would have never beat prime Joe.

So, after taking that into consideration, let's adjust the years.

From 1965-1970...it was only 1 belt available, the WBA belt. Ernie Terrell had it from 1965-1967, lost it to Ali in 1967, Ali was stripped of it and Jimmy Ellis got it from 1968-1970. A 33 year old Floyd Patterson actually BEAT Jimmy Ellis on all the press scorecards (AP/press row/newspaper/media) for the WBA title in 1968, and in many people's eyes watching....but the referee (which back then they had referee's decisions if the fight went the distance) seen it the other way and it was a controversial decision in favor of Jimmy Ellis.

Patterson was NOT washed up when Ali beat him if he basically beat the Champion in 1968...3 years after Ali fought Patterson
