Trump knows how to speak to idiots in their language. Democrats need to find a candidate who could be able to speak to idiots and explain to them how MAGA ain't shyt. Obviously it's impossible to convince hardcore MAGA base, but there is a certain population of undecided, confused audience that could be persuaded.
Stephen A. Smith is also nowhere near the popularity of who Trump was before 2016, so I don't think his celebrity status would help that much.

Got a feeling things are about to do a 180. The past decade has been straight geriatric. Vance is only 40 and they are gonna push him as the future face. The Dems will also need a younger fresher face to combat that as well.
