It's the same folks cosigning this bullshyt from Stephen A.

The expectation that Russ was going to change the Wizards into contenders is entirely media driven. In DC all we want is for the team to play hard and have a long term plan to get better and keep our key guys.

Discounting what Russ is doing while salivating over Beal and trying to figure out how to move him to LA is everything wrong with NBA culture.
YALL DONT HAVE KEY GUYS G YALL DO HAVE 17 wins

I do see an issue and I don't. In all fairness, no it's not fair. No it shouldn't be so black and white, especially in team games.

But as I started this whole thing with......... "You want it to be one way, it is not that way"

It's never been that way. In any sport. In any era. We marveled at the feats. We gave props for the things you did. You got the contracts for all of it.................

But the "star" player who kept losing every year. Never was a factor in the playoffs. Never made a championship game. Never won it all. They were NEVER in that upper elechon. They were praised to their extent, then the real playoffs start, and they aren't spoken of except to explain how they keep not making it. They get dubbed regular season players. They get dubbed choke artists.. They get labeled as players who can't get it done when the team needs them. Not a leader. Are they not good under pressure? Questions get raised.. Those contracts get lowered. Minutes get lowered.

I said Harden for a reason. Harden always gets praised.. Puts up numbers. AND wins. Gets his teams far in the playoffs too. What's the knock against him STILL? Can't get it done. Can't lead a team to the promised land. Can't make those stats lead to a ring. Had to join a superteam to get a ring. Same thing they said about KD until he got 2 FMVPs. Now we act like he didn't have to join GS to do it and dub him 2nd best in the game.. But he had to join Steph, who was the current 1st best player cause 1 ring over Bron.. Who is now putting up crazy stats, that nobody cares about, cause they ain't winning 72 games... And if they never win again, but Steph puts up those stats, he'll be Peyton Manning next.

Man, you seem like your heart is in the right place, but in my opinion you're viewing this shyt with such naïveté that you're missing the point.
Everything youre saying is predicated on the idealistic notion that sports is a meritocracy.
For every view you hold to be true, you have to assume that professional sports are a closed ecosystem, and the teams are independent to one another, and the only forces dictating who gets awarded contracts are success on the field... and then OUTSIDE OF THAT, journalists reporting on the sport are doing so in a completely objective manner, and their standards are the same for every player across every sport. And with all of that established as the level playing field by which everyone is judged, the players themselves as participants in this meritocracy need to accept and cherish their labels and narratives, because they signed up for this and that's how sports are.
In reality, professional sports in America are a tax haven and wealth escalator for the biggest businessmen in the country, who buttress that industry with the adjunct sports media industry, and things like the shoe industry, video games, apparel, now online trading cards, etc.
Every. Single. Decision. And I mean every single one, is based on one thing and one thing only: money.
We KNOW the owners colluded to keep Kaep sidelined. You may have forgotten because they painted shyt at the end of the field and wore decals on their helmets, but this shyt is proven in a court of law. So there's one example of a player succeeding and then getting nothing (save, exile) for his performance.
But come on man--every contract is awarded based on one question: will spending x amount of money on player y result in an x+z ROI, where z is added revenue.
If that answer is no, the player doesnt get signed.
And to improve that calculus, teams will do ANYTHING.
If the player is too good and commands too much money, they'll slander him and drop all the dirt they have.
If a player is too good but is too toxic to the community, they'll cover for him and say he's a changed man.
Who's they?
They is the media. The same machine that the owners are a part of. But that media gets their marching order from the teams. Its all one agenda. Its not racism, its not social justice, its not anything other than cold hard fukking cash and control.
I read your post and I just see a man who thinks that this shyt is all organic. Like Stephen A is waking up and pouring over the stats... going for a drive at night with the windows down and meditating on these questions. Like he gave some thought to this shyt. You think these guys just wake up with hot takes and dont need approval from anyone? You think they're independent and ABCDisney lets them do and say whatever they want?
Nah.
So why attack Russ this week?
Why attack anyone ever?
Its driven from the top, its top down.
Russ is too much of a free thinker. Get this man out. Shut him up.
They want him out of the L ASAP, why?
To gete someone younger and cheaper and quieter in there whos "just happy to be there" and will shut up and dribble.
They can change the narrative on anyone like *that*.

Thank you Stephen A. Russell now wants to turn on the media after they had his back after KD left and they joined in humiliating KD, he now wants to turn on them after this nonsensical triple double stat padding media narrative stole a MVP from Harden and all this occurred whilst he played for great OKC team, also playing with Melo, Harden, PG as well along his career and getting humiliated during the course and now Beal at Washington and yet changed make the playoffs. Bruh please,

Harden should be a two times MVP,

Stephen A has humiliated in his response, when it comes to basketball on this matter Stephen A is right

Whole thread is hilarious... with all this sanctimonious bullshyt like the general consensus on Westbrook ON THIS VERY BOARD doesn’t mirror exactly what SAS said...and for years...the nikka deadass has a decade old official smiley named “Sabo” short for sabotage because his low IQ play, despite his amazing stats, was a determining factor in a OKC team with dynastic potential...not winning shyt and ultimately disbanding ...after a media honeymoon in the wake of Durant leaving that led to him getting a MVP on a middling team, he’s been paired with a revolving door of superstars with disappointing results....his contract is considered one of the worst in basketball because it’s an accepted fact his pay far outweighs his impact on winning...it’s the reason why a recent MVP, ostensibly still in his statistical prime, got traded for a negative value contract guy in John Wall who hadn’t even played in seasons off the back of an Achilles year...that says volumes more than SAS saying the obvious, that putting up a bunch of stats on garbage teams is not moving the needle anymore

So that's where the "Sabo" smiley originated from and means :ohhh:

And it's retarded. You don't have to join in the retard behavior. Some great players will not win championships.

SAS along with Skip and the other cats don't offer any form of insight. But then again when criticism of Inside the NBA is countered with "yeah we don't need facts, just jokes" that's indicative of how stupid the average NBA conversation is. But you don't have to engage at that level.

That's the strangest part about it. For some reason, Russ is getting all the blame for the teams failures, while Beal is seemingly getting off scott free of blame as well.

They both deserve criticism for what's transpiring, yet we all know why it isn't happening that way.

You're what's wrong with nba fans. How do you expect two guards playing with first and second year players mostly to be competitive. Basketball is a team sport. If these guys were with vets doing what they are doing they'd be contenders. But somehow they are to blame when they are producing and the team is not winning because guess what. Everyone is young on the team and need experience.

Remember this team lost a quality starting center, Thomas Bryant, at the start of the year. They've been playing with no real Centers all season.
