It's gotten progressively worse though. I guess you could say he's at his peakif you want to call it that. Especially after the Alexander fight it seemed like he and his struggle trainer dad decided to perfect that style.Dude really got a stoppage from a clash of heads and I'm not certain that was unintentional. And although it's true that Berto knew what he was signing up for, I don't think anybody expected that kind of intensity with. It's perfected reckless abandon, like chaos. Styles make fights, but that was more of a mess than a fight on Saturday night.
Well then yall haven't been watching Porter's fights that often.......or yall don't remember
He fought Brook, Thurman, Broner, Alexander, Malignaggi, Berto, and Bone the exact same way each time![]()
That sh!t really started with Alexander though and has gotten worse ever since then. I hope Thurman follows the advice in the following article and doesn't run that back with him. As much as I enjoyed their fight, after Saturday I don't want to see Porter in the ring with anybody. Go wrestle, or do MMA, or pesticide work. Anything but boxing.
Even though he's No. 1 contender, Shawn Porter won't face Keith Thurman next
Thurman only made the statement because he was in the ring with Porter. A rematch with Porter this quickly makes little sense. Fighting Pacquiao is the bigger fight even though it is a long shot to happen, but Pacquiao does like challenges, and Thurman is the best 147-pound fighter in the world today. The Brook-Spence winner is also intriguing for the champion. Brook or Spence will walk out of England as the IBF champ, and an undisputed title fight equals a lot of money regardless if the fight is in Brook's home country of England or the United States if Spence emerges the victor.
Only if those fights fall through is where then, and only then, should the Porter fight come next.
What does Porter offer Thurman at this point aside from more bruising to his face and a lot of punches to the head? Absolutely nothing.
A chance to get a clear win over a guy he struggled to beat
Yeah but he got the W. That's all that counts. It wasn't all that controversial, especially in hindsight. It's another scalp, another name on his resume. He should explore his options before running that back with Porter.
I'd watch a porter before bhop fight any day
Porter going out on his shield win or lose, no running, no scheming refs n fans for easy checksDisagree. I've grown to appreciate BHop mid to late 2000's fight.

Straight on your ass with educated brawling, energy, and vicious relentless body work, how could people hate that...True, and Porter starts off fast. No waiting 7 or 8 rds to engage in offense like the damn Eastman and Taylor fights.

It's okay he's getting better as that chip grows on his shoulder
