Also, since I am a veteran, I can tell you with 100% confidence that what I receive for tuition payments and living allowance to go to school under the new GI Bill is exponentially much larger than what I put in.

It paid around $20,000 for tuition and feeds this semester alone, and will pay around $5,500 to $6,600 for living allowance this semester. This is a 3.5 month span. Nearly $26,000 for ONE semester. I'm about to graduate soon.

Paying into the welfare and social security is MUCH different than paying into a G.I. bill regarding socialism because the G.I. bill isn't for everyone, nor do you have to participate in the program. Just because the government gives you money doesn't mean it's a form of socialism. Financial aid for school would fit better in line with socialism than the G.I. Bill. Read a book.

If I pay into a system $5 and I receive back $10,000 to use, that money comes from a social pool, does it not? Are you implying that the money comes from private sources?

If you're using the post 9/11 GI Bill you know damn well you receive several magnitudes of more money than you put in. Matter of fact, If I remember correctly, military people who entered after the post 9/11 bill went into affect don't even have to contribute to use it. They only have to be in a certain amount of years.
