NBA :Raptors(hometown team)

NFL: no home town/ local team: I just watch and follow the league. I enjoy the NFL product and the sport of gridiron football. The presentation of the product and its convenient 17-game season schedule works for me.

I didn’t find a favorite squad that I live and die with yet . But I like the logo, tradition and history of the Steelers. I like the bad ass logo of the raiders and the « screaming eagle logo » of the eagles. I like the logo and color scheme of the Saints. I like the purple and gold of the Vikings and the logo and purple of the ravens. I also root for all black quarterbacks in the rest of the league off general principle. I guess I will remain a general nfl fan until I particularly fall in love with a team. I simply didn’t grew up with the sport or the league as a child and there were no local team in Toronto. My football fandom came later in life. That’s why I’m more of a casual fan in football, in other sports I’m a diehard because I have rooting interests.

MLB: Blue Jays(hometown team)

NHL: Maple Leafs(hometown team)

Football/ English premier league : Arsenal( go gunners) I loved the logo and color schemes, their history and traditions. And my father/old man was a diehard football/soccer fan. He wasn’t a arsenal fan though, but a Manchester United (Man U) loyalist.

Steelers - I’m from Piffsburgh

Pirates - I’m from Piffsburgh

Penguins - I’m from Piffsburgh

Sixers - the only nba team in PA
If Pittsburgh ever got a nba team what would they be called?

the Ironmen?(pittsburgh is the steel city after all)
the soldiers?

They would wear Black and yellow colors like the penguins, Steelers and pirates obviously to keep it with the Pittsburgh sports black and yellow color theme and scheme.

NBA -Knicks (Family is Knicks nation and Allan Houston is my favorite player of all time)

NFL - Jets (Just happened naturally. My parents don’t watch football but I was obsessed with Curtis Martin so I just gravitated towards the Jets. Add in the Jets as my madden team and there we go.

MLB - Mets ( We didn’t have a lot of money growing up but Mets tickets were always affordable and my dad loved taking the family to Mets games. The Mets family days were great and great memories. I’ve been to more Mets games than every other sport combined).

Hockey - Rangers (I don’t know I mean it is in NYC I guess)

WNBA - Easily the liberty (I watched them when Dolan used to own them and also my family knows Teresa Weatherspoon

SMF and LAX to VA and NC
NFL
My favorite sport, I started following hardcore when I was 10, which is when the Titans went to their first and only Super Bowl to date. Their colors and players made me a fan for life...

Moved to Virginia as a high school freshman, where the Redskins were popular and their best player was Champ Bailey. Made me a fan for life...

I had a stint as a Raiders fan before coming to VA, I'm from Sac where both Raiders and 9ers are popular but my first favorite player was Charles Woodson, so while I don't consider myself a Raider fan, I do always root for their success...

In my early 20s I lived in WNY and enjoyed rooting for the Bills, again not a "Bills fan" bit I like seeing them win...

I live in Raleigh and in recent 3 years or so, even though they suck, I like rooting for the Panthers...

I'm an NFL fan but more than anything, I'll always be a Titan and a Redskin...

NBA
My second favorite sport, but my team allegiances arent as strong. I don't have any team that I feel as connected to as the Commanders or Titans...

I was a Laker fan first, then a Kings fan, so I always root for both though I wouldn't necessarily call myself a fan of any team now. When I moved to VA I was a Sixers fan because of Iverson. Still like seeing the Sixers do well but again not necessarily a Sixers "fan"...

I liked the Wizards during the John Wall era. I like seeing the Grizzlies do well, I used to live in Memphis. It would be nice to see the Hornets be good but even people in Charlotte don't really care about them...

NBA is the only sport that I mainly root for favorite players over teams. My current favorite is probably Giannis, but I could care less about the Bucks...

MLB
The Nationals moved from Montreal to Washington when I was in high school so I kinda root for them. I like seeing the Dodgers win...

Have always had a light interest in the Athletics, probably that Sacramento/Oakland thing again, but have never been a diehard. Sac has the A's for the next 3 years so my interest in the A's has picked back up...

If Raleigh lands this MLB team in a few years they will become a favorite for me...

NHL
The Hurricanes are the only major league team currently based in Raleigh, so I fukk with em. They are way more popular here than I would have guessed before moving here, and while not a super fan, the love and excitement the city has for em has kinda swept me up, too...

MLS
I really wanted Sacramento to land that MLS squad a few years ago. Raleigh's bid lost out too, so I casually follow Charlotte FC but I'm certainly not a diehard...

 NCAA
This has changed at different times of my life. Right now, living in Raleigh, NC State Wolfpack is pretty much my rooting interest in all sports...

At times of my life I was into Syracuse basketball, Cal football, Florida State football, South Carolina football and women's basketball, Virginia Tech football. To be honest I think I'd always like seeing those programs succeed, too. But I'm probably more of a NCSU guy now than anything...

Would be thrilled if Cal is ever great at any fukking thing again, though 🤣 so I guess my fandom for them is still there...

WNBA
The Sacramento Monarchs were good back when the Kings were, but of course they don't exist anymore...

And true story, as a kid having those SI mags, I had a crush on Dawn Staley when she played for the Charlotte Sting, so I liked them too. But they don't exist anymore, either 🤣...

Nowadays my interest level has risen again with this new influx of talent. Don't know if I have a favorite team, though if I had to pick one, it's probably the Aces...

From Nor Cal

NFL 49ers cuz of my Pops. His Brothers and cousins are Raider fans, and he's very contrarian.

NBA Celtics cuz of my Pops. Family is all Laker fans so he picked their rival.

MLB A's. Pops hates baseball. All my family is Giants fans but I just liked the A's. 94 strike turned me off to baseball. By 2000 I stopped caring. With no salary cap the big market teams just spend too much money for the little guys to compete consistently. I was actually very happy for my family that are Giants fans who got to see them win 3 championships.

MLS Earthquakes. I'd like to see them build up a quality youth academy to develop young Talent. They are owned by scumbag cheapskate John Fisher though.

Houston TX
Colts - lived in Indiana when I got into NFL
Purdue & Georgia Tech - paid tuition
Liverpool - because of wife and inlaws, got to attend Klopps second to last home game at Anfield
Houston Dynamo - only Houston team I'd root for... they are ass but fun to go to games

Don't care enough about the rest to follow a team. Used to be a kobe stan but don't care about Lakers now.

The Truth
Saints: family team

Lakers: was a Shaq fan in the day as a kid (Bulls fans too. But I was a kid more so just watching. Basketball wasn’t as big in my areas growing up outside of high profile teams. So I was a fan of players back then more so than teams).

When Shaq went to LA, it was exciting to watch because I already like Eddie Jones, Glenn Rice from his time in Charlotte, etc.

Then Kobe started emerging and was more entertaining to watch to me. Going toe-to-toe with MJ, Pippen, Gary Payton, prime Ray Allen, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady etc. all players I liked but here was this younger guy closer to my age on the team I liked and I just found myself trying to watch all their games.

And the games were dramatic and exciting af. To the point now that with certain games are brought up and I know exactly where I was when I watched it.

Edit:

Also, LSU… hometown/family team.

I started liking Florida teams as I lived and grew up there. So I’ll watch FSU (mainly because I wanted to play football there) and went to FIU. Eventually became a Heat fan despite despising Heat fans in florida and of how the Heat vs. Mavericks series went. I still watch the Heat sometimes now just to see how they doing.

I was also a semi-raiders fan but that was before all of this and me being a Bo Jackson fan.

I hate baseball so don’t care. Only other sport I watch is boxing and sometimes mma.
