can we agree to say we just have to accept we don't know what we don't know until we know more? with the understanding that there is more out there to know, but we don't know when we'll know that information.

however, it seems the more we think we know the more we realize there's more we don't know.

Meh, true, but I don't think every question is a troll question even if it's an attempt to challenge someone's position. After all, if your position is never challenged how do you know how firm it is?

no problems with someone challenging a position or theory of science. But I wish he was actually genuinely interested in learning, instead of trying to feel superior to other folks.

This is part of the transition/ new paradigm shift we're trying to foster in HL. There's a very thin line between Troll and someone questioning someone's position. I think a lot of posters are still on guard if you will. time should bring about change.

Well I can't speak for him or his intentions but I know I started a thread or two genuinely asking something about evolution and got hit the "religious troll" title too simply for asking a question.

Then when I genuinely ask creationists questions I get called an "atheistic troll" so it goes both ways.

It's all something I'm becoming very curious about so I'm always sincere about it but sometimes it's hard to get a good discussion. If you ask me, 90% of HL is trolls especially as it pertains to this particular debate.

Here's the thing.
Sensitive isn't a biologist with a specialization in evolution. He's a knowledgeable cat, who from what i can tell is well enough read and intelligent enough to pass various readings, reports and opinions on to other people so as to help them jump start their own understanding.

Far to often we come to a headway when we can't 100% prove shyt and when you think about it asking for that on certain topics is just down right ignorant. Have you ever read a biology report attempting to explain evolution. I mean an actual scholarly journal type piece, not the newsweek rehashing of it. That's some serious work, to expect either him to be able to explain what a group of scientist took a year to write down, format, footnote and insert graphs into is just... or for you to be able to understand some of the concepts 100% without the years in training that these thing often require is again

I think HL needs to get off the "we got the truth" tip and just start asking questions and focus on taking what you can from the OPINIONS you can.

I agree, the point is half the nikkas you are seeking answers from probably dont even know what the hell theyre talking about aside from, exactly what you said, memorizing various tidbits from message boards and youtube videos

We're all blind though, that's the thing. We, as a species, came from stalking rabbits but nekked in teh forest with sharpened rocks to having robot fighter planes kill our enemies...all done because the blind led the blind.
