If Draymond was any other team could avg way more points.

And on this episode of Kids Say the Darndest Things.Depends on the matchups and era. In today's game, I'm starting Dray, benching Ben and cutting Rodman.
In a different era, Dray would be useless because he doesn't have the raw athletic ability of Rodman or Ben....but he's way too small to bang with Olajuwon, Robinson, Mutombo, Ewing, Shaq, Mourning etc. Rodman/Ben could at least grab some rebounds and hustle. Dray would be too obvious of a defensive liability.
Like Ben/Worm are what they are. Dray has a more versatile game...but who exactly is he gonna use that on in the 80s/90s?
Only sensible take in the thread.Worm nor Ben can facilitate
Has Worm ever defended 1-5 in the same game?
Draymond can switch on guards, QB a def, help out on a trap & then recover, protect the rim, and he had fast hands
Draymond is a unicorn
After all that
Start: Draymond
Bench: Worm
Cut: Ben
Exactly, people forget Ben played with 3 other top on the ball defenders at their positions, that defended multiple positions - Billups, Tayshaun and Sheed. Not saying he didn't also put in his work, but he wasn't even the best defender on that sqaud. But he was perhaps the scrappiest. He's right though. Ben pretty much played like a back end free safety on that defense. He roamed off his man to get weekside blocks all the time. Sheed was the better man defender against bigs. They kinda let Ben do his thing while everybody else manned up. They knew if they got beat Ben had their back, and he was movie enough on switches that he wasn't food when he got matched up on the perimeter. Got quite a few steaks by being able to run and play passing lanes. He's way more versatile than people who didn't watch him a ton give him credit for.... But he's not either one of the other 2. Her probably be the one I cut because Draymond give you ability to guard 1-5 and also contributes heavily with his iq on offense too. And Rodman just a all time great defender and the best rebounder ever.
I wouldn't go as far as to say he wasn't the best defender. Not the best individual defender, sure but his defensive versatility and overall impact is what made that whole thing work, and that was well before any of the other 3 actually joined the team. He won his first DPOY before any of them got there. When they all formed together though it elevated them to an all time great defense.Exactly, people forget Ben played with 3 other top on the ball defenders at their positions, that defended multiple positions - Billups, Tayshaun and Sheed. 5th best defender is guarding him and defensive focus is centered on "where is Steph?"I dont get it
