Starfield vs Spider-Man 2: Which Game Will You Be Playing In September?

Both games are going to be the most popular game this fall. Not to downplay spiderman, but I feel games that are uploaded on Playstation channel will always have significant number. I think many sleep on how popular the playstation brand is, so it's not shocking to see starfield not having that high youtube views on the Bethesda and xbox channel.

Starfield has remained top wishlist game on steam, so it should be interesting to see how it performs on steam because I don't think it will sell that many copies on xbox because of gamepass.

For sure, but xbox reach is much smaller than Playstation. Armore core trailer on playstastion has 100k views, but xbox view is 20k

Not downplaying spiderman because it's huge, and most likely will be a top 3 selling game of year. It's just that Stafield youtube views is hard to gauge interest because xbox reach is just awful tbh. the xbox official page views for that trailer is 248k. Not to undersell Sony because they deserve it, and not their fault xbox marketing reach is awful. I just don't think Starfield YouTube views is the proper way to gauge interest in the game. Also, I have no doubt in my mind that spiderman 2 will outsell Starfield

Spider-man obviously transcends gaming as one of the most popular and recognizable characters in human history. The trailer will obviously reach more people, from movie fans, to comic book fans, families, old classic fans, etc. On top of the fact that sony has more rabid fans like @Gizmo_Duck who will watch, share, post about anything playstation, dozens or even hundreds of times.

The question is which game will more gamers be engaged with this fall. That answer is easily starfield. Like Skyrim has more players and engagement right now than miles morales and that came out almost a decade ago.

There’s honestly no question which game will reach more gamers. Sony stan’s just live in their own universe

we can see Steam sales I think, but yeah good luck getting xbox numbers. I think achievement % at certain points of the game can give you an idea of engagement. I think with a game like starfield completion can vary. I remember it took me years to complete fallout games and skyrim

Fair. I legitimately have Skyrim playtime in the 4 digits. I think I've technically killed Alduin... twice? I'm over 500 in Fallout 4 and finished it once.

That said... that's all a product of mod playthroughs changing the way Bethesda games work once the mod ecosystem is built up. For a new property this marketed, I think it'd be a point of failure in game design if they don't have good numbers getting at least to midgame. Because it means they have bloated it with so many distractions as to actually hinder the 'game'. though, it would be Bethesda admitting that they're actually selling us a mod platform and not a game; and the game itself is more on us to provide.

Which... sounds exactly on-brand with what they wanted from Fallout 76 on release - players making their own game systems because they didn't feel like it. Hopefully they learned from how badly that went and they'll tighten this storyline enough to make people want to bother with it vanilla.

The video i linked isn’t 60 mins, its 3 minutes and i can link the spider-man gameplay reveal from the playstation showcase also. It doesn’t help. The former isn’t even from a playstation channel.

Literally every single spider-man 2 video released this year has more views, the release date reveal at summer games fest, the limited edition console reveal, etc.

I’m not the one who created this thread or bumped this thread today. Its yall who keep trying to compete with spider-man

I will be playing both games and im excited for both but im not delusional. Spider-Man 2 is still getting votes and its not even coming out in september lol
