GP is a great idea, but AAA games cost too much to throw up on day one for only fifteen dollars a month or whatever. GP would have to be fifty dollars a month to even start to make that math work.
The other issue is that people still like choosing the games they buy, and a surprising amount of people still like physical, like a surprising majority. In a U.S. with EU-like digital media laws and way better internet services across rural and urban locations, maybe GP is viable, but even then, not with AAA games hitting the service day one when Sony can sell 4M+ copies of AAA Spider-Man at 70 bucks a pop in the first weeks of release.
