These people teased us with images of a young black jedi wielding a lightsaber for a whole year, only to spit in our faces take our money and laugh.

Teased us with images of Luke Skywalker returning to wreck shyt and lead the rebellion again.. Only to spit in our faces, take our money and laugh.
:heh:Y'all really bout to take the bait again huh? Fxck that they gotta pay. I'll never forget how I felt when I walked out of TLJ. Never. If this does well, Kat Kennedy keeps her job and we're stuck with Rian Johnson goofy azz directing the franchise forever. This shyt is not a game, I need y'all to be strong brehs. Bootleg if you gotta.

Shyt, you got more patience than I do. I dropped the series after The Force Awakens, seeing what the fukk they did to Finn turned me off completely. Any other movie I saw when it hit Netflix.

You know...I just realized I don't really know the answer to this. :skip:

I mean...I got the impression that he was rebelling against his parents and shyt? :skip:
He always had a struggle between dark and light, just like anakin. Luke sensed that in him and for a split second thought that maybe he should kill kylo, and kylo sensed that intent from his uncle and chose the dark side.

Kylo then destroyed Luke's jedi academy while Luke ran and hid like a coward and gave up on the jedi.

That's how its explained in TLJ but that goes against everything we know about Luke, and just makes that whole reveal stupid as fukk.

Honestly the only way I can see them ending this trilogy on a somewhat high note is to have this last movie focus on kylo rediscovering his faith in the light, while Rey turns dark after seeing how Luke gave up on the jedi.

Kylo is has already been shown to be no match for Rey, and everyone hates Rey as a character so they might as well play off that for this final movie.

That doesn't explain what originally caused him to turn though. Luke wasn't the cause, Ben was already about to turn to the dark side anyway when that happened.

In Anakin's case he turned because Palpatine promised he could save Padme. After that blew up in his face he just rolled with it because figured it was too late to turn back.

In Ben Solo's case he turned because...? The movies don't really make it clear why he was even thinking about turning to the dark side in the first place, other than him idolising Vader.

Anakin had shown signs of being conflicted on the dark side and the light before palpatine made that promise. Slaying that entire clan because of what happened to his mom, being angry at the jedi for treating him like the kid he still was, force choking padme in anger, Palpatine was just the trigger.

The movie's did a poor job at showing the conflict in kylo, but it was shown that Luke sensed the conflict and for a brief moment pondered killing Ben, which was supposedly the trigger for him going dark.

Nah. They know they have to go past this trilogy. They’ve seen how Potter and Trek struggled by staying in the past.

So they can’t definitely end the First Order threat but can’t let Rey go out without a win. Saving Kylo and ending Palpatine but the First Order being severely weakened is the only way they can end this.
