I still think the biggest problem with Last Jedi was that it wasn't a 2nd part of a trilogy, it felt like a 2nd episode of a 6 ep. mini series. And you also have to add the fact that it threw to the garbage most of the stuff that TFA (which I like less and less the more time goes on) established.
TLJ is kind of a "What If" movie instead of proper sequel to Ep. 7. So it left very little room to actually finish the trilogy. Like, there's no way Palpatine showing up doesn't feel forced and rushed, same with whatever the fukk they are gonna do with Rey - who already is a character that doesn't feel natural - and how the finish this whole saga.
She does look weird, like she's on auto pilot. I buy the clone/possessed theory. She doesn't even have the corrupted Sith eye, but then again, neither does Kylo.
