Have you ever noticed nobody talks about Dragon Ball GT, and they made a whole new series Super and completely act like GT doesn't exist? Yeah it's because GT is trash, kind of like these movies.

Ok so I saw this last night and it's not horrible like TLJ, but JJ was definitely trying to pander to every fanboy at the same time. I'm very shocked how much Carrie Fisher was in this. I think she was in this movie more than the other two even.

Also, there wasn't much lightsaber battling, which is odd since Rey for some reason is all powerful with very little to no training.

The fan boys don’t want to be pandered to. Just don’t shyt on the OG characters and story.

This biggest slice of the blame pie goes to Kathleen Kennedy. She is the leader and had absolutely zero direction for the trilogy. The fact that they clearly didnt have a fully fleshed out, coherent story when they started this new trilogy is a fireable offense

She's entirely the wrong fit for this type of franchise. Her main work was with Spielberg, who is a dominant creative force. She didn't need to provide creative direction, just make sure the budget was being adhered to as much as possible and to make Spielberg's vision fit studio realities. Now she's more or less responsible for shepherding an IP, with numerous creative voices and pressures and I think she simply doesn't know what to do (cf. Kevin Feige).

In short, she's a Tom Hagen who tries to be a Michael Corleone.

Nah that shyt was unoriginal trash too. The last Jedi was original trash. And this final movie was the love child of two directors trash visions for the franchise coming together and imploding the entire 9 movie franchise.

It's really sad when you think about it. I'm getting annoyed at JJ fans and RJ fans pointing the finger at each other when they both were just embarrassingly bad.

They just made the movies to make them. You get bad results when you do something like that to such a well established franchise. They should've waited until they had a fully fleshed out story. Everything was a rehash of something old or just doing something new to do it.

I think you kind of missed the point of the ending

The Skywalker is Rey, she took on the Skywalker name at the end of the movie.

The point was that it doesn't matter if she's biologically a Palpatine, she's choosing to carry on the Skywalker legacy. The message is that your family doesn't determine who you are, you have a choice.

Rey goes back to Luke’s Aunt and Uncles house from A New Hope
someone asks who she is
She says “Rey....” looks to the side and sees Luke/Leia force ghosts then looks back and says “Skywalker”

i get that ... but its bullshyt... it makes those 60 years of lineage meaningless. palpatine creating life yadda ya.. all that meaningless.. anakin was "jesus".. thats basically all of walking around saying we in jesus' family now cause we follow him...

wait ... that is what we do with religion.... i get it now

edit: what the point of palaptine using the force to create anakin if he had a kid... was he upset his kid didnt have the force so he made one?

The internet may wave ride shytting on this movie but it’s legit not thaaaat bad. ESP in the context that it can’t escape the mistakes this trilogy already made like misusing Luke and not having one fukking scene of Han and Luke. It’s not season 8 GoT bad by any means. It’s just a solid, entertaining movie.
