That's a scary trend especially when Rogue One made $533.5M domestically and $1.05B worldwide. It came out a exactly 1 year after
The Force Awakens which is the highest grossing movie at the domestic box office with $936.6M and $2.0 worldwide. It was a good movie but it definitely rode the Force Awakens Wave.
It makes sense when you think about it. Obi-Wan Kenobi is a beloved Star Wars character and one of the most beloved characters in film history, and you can see that with the demand at the beginning of the show, outpacing all but the mandalorian season 2. But the quality wasn't there which is why you see it slowly taper off towards the end.
The Mandalorian has become one of the most beloved Star Wars characters and definitely the most beloved since Ahsoka. Obviously Grogu is right there. It doesn't look like that's the case with Andor, who was a new character created for Rogue One, which really benefitted from TFA good will and lead-in. Knowing his ultimate fate may not help with demand. Maybe he'll get there. Diego Luna is doing his thing.
There's no doubt this show is of high quality, so is
The Mandalorian. To me,
The Mandalorian is the best Star Wars show. Maybe even
the Clone Wars season 5. If you were to say that this is the best show set within the Star Wars universe, I'd still disagree but I could see your point. But EASILY the best by FAR?
Now with that being said, it's time for me to watch the latest episode.
Why is demand for Andor so low?
