What time period is this supposed to be set in? I really liked the Section 31 eps of DS9 and if this show is set near those times and had Julian Bashir as a major character with healthy features from the DS9 crew and was lightweight the DS9 version of Picard, I could get behind it. Picard was generally ok with a great 3rd season IMO but I need some nostalgia mixed in to make nutrek worth my time.

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be pre original series since that's where Discovery is set and this is when the character was originally introduced. You aren't getting the DS9 style episodes since those were more dialogue heavy and cerebral with a morality play. These are just shootem up action bullshyt.

Yeah Star Trek after JJ Abrams got ahold of it is basically a poor man's Star Wars. They have revisited some characters from DS9 a little bit in the animated shows.
IMDB is not even showing the IMDB score for this on its website I can easily find the score for SNW (8.3/10, great show) so they are not hiding it for every movie/TV Show.
Crazy they had an actress that won a Oscar as the main character only for the movie to be Tubi original quality
I enjoyed Michelle Yeoh character on Discovery, yeah her main universe character got killed in the pliot episode of Discovery but her alternate universe character showed up a couple episodes later and stayed in the main universe for the rest of the series
It started off with a flashback implying that new Emperor's of the Terran Empire are selected by some sort of Battle Royal/Hunger Games type competition which immediately had me rolling my eyes. Very poor. Then lots of awful, awful dialogue and badly acted performances. I will say that Rob Kazinski's 'Zeph' character was the only one who looked like they had potential. I feel really sorry for him, I've known of him 20 odd years from other stuff. He's a huge fan and was so over the moon to be involved so it's a shame he ended up in this shyte.
The moment that made me switch off was when one character descended into an atrocious leprechaun type Irish accent for no reason. I didn't even wait for the explanation of that character. I just proclaimed "oh just fukk off" and switched it off.,
No one asked for this. Let's be honest, this project was dead in the water pretty much until Yeoh won her Oscar and then it was a mad rush to get it made and out to capatalise on that. That's streaming for you, and the more people pay TV/Music streaming services the worse things will get.
Netflix hoodwinked a generation and more into thinking it was actually any good due to good marketing, stuff like this is the knock on effect. Expect SNW to be announced as cancelled after S4 goes into production. Seems very suspect they were quick to announce 2 more for it. They'll kill that off, fukk with canon completely and Kurtzman will continue on with his Academy series until that ends. Robert Picardo being added as the EMH is to bring fans on board. Nothing more. Setting it in future-DSC shytty era and using a concept that has been mooted since the 70's. 50 years and it was never made. What does that tell you?
Same with Rachel Garrett being in this, they knew it would not go down well with fans and so add a familair name in to draw the people with no interest in who may just continue to watch because of a legacy character. Kurtzman era Trek will only get worse from here on in. We hit the Peak when we had Lower Decks, Prodigy, Picard S3 and a season of SNW in a small period of time, that was it.
"This S31 film will hopefully lead to more one-offs"
No it won't Kurtzman you c*nt. You made sure of that with this shyte. Man has been thoroughly pissed off and embarassed that the shows made by others; The Hageman Brothers, Mike McMahon, Terry Matalas have all been better and universally better received than what he's overseen. This is his revenge.
